Everybody knows someone who has a BMX, but the likelihood is that they barely use it for tricks, let alone race it. However, getting on track is relatively easy and quite cheap too. all you need is a bmx and the safety gear.
The Bike
The bikes are generally simple and robust, so they’ll last a long time and are relatively inexpensive to buy. They have no gears, just powerful brakes. A racing BMX should consist of a lightweight frame so the BMX is fast and easy to manoeuvre. Some are made from aluminium, but they best are made from chromoly. The more of this is used in the construction of the bike, the stronger and more lightweight it will be. If you’re stuck between two bikes, then have a look and see which has more of it. You should get a differently configured bike if you just want to use it for tricks as opposed to racing.

Also in 2013 the girls got a chance to show what they were capable of during the Sister Session in Tallinn. Things get better and better after each group and we got to witness not only flips, but hangover toothpick grinds as well. Here's how the ladies ended up.

The 1st Zero Gravity Expo kicked off Saturday the 16th of March in Assen, The Netherlands, with a full day of practice on the freshly built dirt setup. As the event is held in March it is a big plus that the contest can be held indoors regarding the beautiful Dutch weather during this time of the year. On our way to the north of Holland we couldn’t be happier that we could ride indoors as it was snowing lightly and the outside temperature was below 0 degrees.

Riders from the Netherlands came over to the event next to international riders out of Austria, Germany and France. On Saturday everybody could practice on the course that the guys of Pedal Park Groningen put together that week. Next to the open practice on Saturday there was an amateur contest where both bmx and mtb riders could compete to warm up for Sunday’s pro contest. Lots of goodies were available through the sponsors of the event and kids loved their new Finger Clothing shirts they won on the big airbag that was opposite of the dirt line.
