Can I have your autograph please?Man, "autograph" was a difficult word for me back in 1983 when I was walking in the pits at the IBMXF World Championships in Slagharen searching for the American Pros with my marker and note block. In between my moto's I was checking the USA pits for riders and managers that did not have signed my book yet. I came up with a respectable list when the race was over. Some legends I never saw again, some I got to know.
When Gary Ellis signed it as a Kuwahara rider I never thought at the time that I would be going snowboarding with him one day. When a very young Danny Nelson (Robinson) was

Travel tips: How to transport your BMX on the plane?
Wherever you go, you want to take your bike. It's hard to drive to the USA from Europe so flying is the only option. With those discount airlines selling ridiculously cheap European flights, it might be an option to take the plane to the next contest. What was only for the big time sponsored riders in the past, might be the thing to do for you too. To give you an example, last year I did book a flight from our local airport (Eindhoven) to London which cost me only 56 Euros and that is including tax. The ticket was actually 2 pounds for the flight to London and 3 pounds for the return.
Now how does it work when you want to bring your bike?

Word on the street was that he did not want to have anything to do with BMX any more. Rumour was that he packed his bags and became a biker. After 15 years of wondering where he was, some people thought they'd seen him at the ABA Grands a few months ago. But he looked so different. Was it really him?
We're not going to give up the name just yet but the lady's T-shirt should give you a hint. Photo by Bruce Ritter.
For the first time in BMX history the Freestyle world championships will take place in Prague, Czech Republic.
The date for the event is 1-5 June 2005. Maybe this means you have to skip school or ask your boss for an early summer vacation but make sure you get there.

Etnies Team manager John Povah has many skills. He designed a new stem and let the Coalition crew use it. Instead of calling it the suggested "Olson Twins" stem, it will be on the shop shelves under the Povah-stem name.
150 of them are already made. The stem weighs under 11 Oz. and the logo is etched on each side. It comes with headset spacers, a gyro plate and instructions. If you want to know more about the Povah stem, get to www.coaltionbmx.com
Our BMX boy Spike Jonze made it to Hollywood. When he married Sofia Ford Coppola (Daughter of Francis) we all thought he'd be "set for life". It was good to see a BMX photographer make it to the big time.
Spike started off shooting for BMX Action, Freestylin' and Go and continued with work such as Homeboy mag and Dirt. When Spike picked up a video camera he seems to be talented in that field as well. Many skate and music videos followed and also some popular commercials. After that it was up to the movie screens as an actor and movie director, just like Sophia.
After 5 years of marriage, the couple have separated. Spike, if you need to go back to your roots for a bit, we could use some pics here at FATBMX.
