At first he tried them under his race gear on the BMX track. If you've been at a BMX track lately, you've probably noticed how rock hard the surface is and that the turns aren't made of loose sand but very grippy asphalt that will scrape your skin off your knees like the most grippy sandpaper. The Kali pads feel comfortable and the one-construction knee/shin guard was well received by Philip. It fit easily under his One Ind. race pants.
