Logan Martin took the win on the final night of the 2015 St. Pete Action Sports event in the Big Air Triples competition against a stacked group of riders. He managed to battle all the way though the Battle Back round of the contest after a first-round loss to James Foster. Martin used a combination of huge technical tricks and remarkable consistency to advance past Pat Casey, Kevin Peraza and Scotty Cranmer in head-to-head match-ups to work his way back into the winner’s side of the bracket.
Martin secured the win in the Finals against former Big Air Triples Champion, Nicholi Rogatkin, by landing a combination of massive tricks including a front-flip barspin, to 360 triple downside whip, to a triple whip on the quarter-pipe.
After two rounds of the FISE World Series, Daniel Sandoval (USA) and Logan Martin (AUS) are tied in the overall ranking. With one more round coming up in Langkawi, Malaysia it will be an interesting stop to see who will grab the overall. With 1000 points up for grabs for first place, even Mark Webb (GBR) and Drew Bezanson (CAN) can win the overall title. Both of them are tied for tenth place at the moment. After World Series stops in Montpellier, France and Chengdu-China, Mike Varga (CAN) sits in third postition. Daniel Wedemeijer (currently in 4th place) has to sit out the final stop in Langkawi due to a shoulder injury. That means Daniel Dhers (VEN), Alex Coleborn (GBR), Kevin Peraza (USA), Konstantin Andreev (RUS) and Jake Leiva (USA) have a good chance of moving up a spot in the 2015 overall ranking. Last year's FISE World Series winner Daniel Dhers had a big of a crash last weekend in Mexico but will do anything to get ready for the final big contest of the year. Make sure to follow the developments on FATBMX as the flight has been booked and we'll report from Malaysia the weekend of 18-20 December.
