Woodward, the global leader in action sports experiences, announced today it is expanding overseas, opening its first ever Urban Center in Sydney, Australia. Scheduled to open in late 2024, Woodward Sydney will be a world-class indoor action sports community facility with a state-of-the-art design that is progression-focused, catering to all ages and ability levels from beginner to Olympians. This is Woodward’s first expansion since the opening of Woodward Park City in 2019 and one of several major investments the company is making in the future of the brand and its commitment to action sports, which also includes renovating existing facilities at Woodward Pennsylvania and Woodward West; developing new facilities and experiences focused on safe progression; and

USA Cycling and Woodward - a global experiential action sports company - create a pathway for riders of all abilities with their new partnership lasting through 2028. From beginner BMX riders all the way up to Team USA, this partnership provides a constant platform for learning and progressing year-round. In addition to hosting the USA Cycling BMX Freestyle Nationals Championships and the USA Cycling Olympic Development Academy, Woodward becomes the official training facility and sponsor to the BMX Freestyle National Team.

USA BMX, the world’s largest BMX racing organization, and Woodward, the ultimate summer camp experience, welcome a partnership designed to benefit BMX racers of all ages. This collaboration will feature a dedicated BMX Racing program with four sessions in June and July at the Woodward Pennsylvania location. Woodward is dedicated to inviting the best coaches the sport offers. For two weeks in June, Olympians and World Champions Sam and Alise Willoughby will help with the BMX Racing camp on a world-class track built in 2019. Between the two, Sam has a silver medal from the 2012 London Games, Alise’s silver medal from the 2016 Rio Games, and several world championships and national titles. For the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, Sam was Alise’s coach.

After over a year of solo acts, it was awesome to get some of the band back together. Brian Kachinsky, Dan Conway, Demarcus Paul, Jeff Purdy, Julian Molina, Chelsea Wolfe, and Mason Ritter had four incredible days at Woodward East, shredding everything in their path, kicking it with the campers, and enjoying the camp vibes.
Woodward, the ultimate summer camp experience for the next-generation of passionate athletes, has partnered with STOKED, an award winning non-profit. As part of Woodward’s commitment to Play Forever, the partnership aims to cultivate a more diverse and inclusive camp experience. For over 16 years, STOKED has worked with 10,000+ kids and mentors and has introduced BIPOC youth action sports culture in Los Angeles, New York City and Chicago. They have built a community of fearless leaders with mentorship, opportunity and action. Woodward and STOKED’s combined mission is to create an overall diverse experience for campers, facilitate staff development initiatives in the realms of inclusion and equity, and diversify the action sports camp program.
