Mongoose has signed Sophia Foresta to join their pro BMX team. In addition to joining team Mongoose, Sophia has accepted the role of Marketing Coordinator at the USA BMX Foundation where she will champion the USA BMX educational programming at schools across the United States. "I am so excited to join the Mongoose/USA BMX Foundation team,” said Sophia. “The ability to combine my two passions of BMX racing and education is a dream come true, and I am so thankful for the opportunity. See you at the track!"
In 2019, Mongoose became a partner with the USA BMX Foundation to help extend their programming in elementary schools. The programs USA BMX Foundation developed were directly in-line with the Mongoose core values and vision – to get more kids access to bikes, growing the sport of cycling. Looking towards 2021, Mongoose and USA BMX Foundation plan to continue their momentum and Sophia is the perfect addition to the team. Sophia comes to Mongoose from GT, another brand under the Dorel Sports umbrella, where she competed for over a decade.
Mongoose has signed three BMX racers – Cameron Wood (18), Payton Ridenour (17), and Mason Hayes (11) – to ride for the brand in 2020. Mongoose AA Pro rider Justin Posey selected the talented trio of young riders to form a team that is impressive both on and off the track. When not racing, these athletes will continue the Mongoose’s efforts to grow the sport of BMX through education. In 2019, Mongoose partnered with the USA BMX Foundation to have Justin Posey ride for the brand while he also served as the Foundation’s Marketing Coordinator. This partnership helped bring more attention to the Foundation’s STEM education programs for elementary age children around the country. And, after a successful first year of the partnership and race program, Mongoose is adding more athletes to the BMX race team in 2020.
“I’m thrilled to have three amazing riders join the Mongoose race team. They are excellent riders, but
While the Mongoose BMX Team was in town for the Mongoose Am Jam in Tucson, Arizona, back in October, Kevin Peraza showed the team around the city riding some of his favorite spots from his youth. When the Mongoose BMX Team was in England for the Mongoose Am Jam, Greg Illingworth showed them what Hastings had to offer. Watch to see Kevin Peraza, Nikita Ducarroz, Pat Casey, Ben Wallace, Cam Peake and Greg ride the local concrete parks, Sidley trails and Source Park.
Mongoose Pro Kevin Peraza is a familiar face in the BMX scene. Weather it's at his local park in Arizona, or at the biggest events in world, you can always count on Kevin smiling and enjoying life on and off his bicycle.
Swiss-American rider Nikita Ducarroz has long been a familiar face on top of the podium at the World’s biggest BMX contests. She’s also no stranger to the challenges faced by every pro rider; whether it’s filming videos, attending press events, constant travel or simply holding it down as a role model to younger riders, Nikita has always gone above and beyond.
Together with USA BMX Foundation, USA BMX - the world’s largest BMX racing organization - announces its partnership with Mongoose to bring their educational programming into schools across the country. Each one of these programs focuses on STEM education through hands-on, project-based learning concepts. Students are learning new ways of seeing science, technology, engineering, and math all through the lens of a BMX bike. More than 225,000 students will be reached in 2019 as a direct result of this collaboration with Mongoose.
“I am from the generation where the name Mongoose is iconic,” said USA BMX Foundation’s Executive Director, Mike Duvarney. “Partnering with such a legendary brand will allow us to reach more schools
Mongoose recently wrapped up a trip to South Africa based around two dope jams / comps- Night Harvest in Cape Town, and Ultimate X at the Sun City Resort, which is located near Johannesburg. Greg Illingworth, Paul Ryan, Pat Casey and Ben Wallace took in the incredible Cape Town sights, abundance of wildlife, and good times at both events.
Paul Ryan took a weekend trip to Copenhagen, Germany to see what kind of riding spots they had to offer. He found some gems that Matty Lambert captured perfectly on his camera. This is a great fast paced video that will make you want to book your ticket now.
