The Vans Pro Cup returned to HB once again for loads of beach-side roasting on some quality concrete, and it was a belter. Mr. Enarson took home the big silver cup after absolutely annihilating the bowl, and was sporting some nice threads to boot- thanks Dennis! In our usual "In The Cut" style, here's a little glimpse into some of the antics and riding that went down during the weekend.
In The Cut - United 'Incarnate' Trip. Behind the scenes with United's Harry Mills-Wakley, Tom Deville, Fernando Laczko, Jordan O'Kane, Fooman on their recent jaunt to the French city of Toulouse.
Mongoose recently wrapped up a trip to South Africa based around two dope jams / comps- Night Harvest in Cape Town, and Ultimate X at the Sun City Resort, which is located near Johannesburg. Greg Illingworth, Paul Ryan, Pat Casey and Ben Wallace took in the incredible Cape Town sights, abundance of wildlife, and good times at both events.
You've seen Greg Illingworth slay the Source Park, smash coffee into a human face, and even create super hi-tec time travelling mugs, well now you can watch how it all went down.
After pulling off one of the most raw and wildest jams ever last year, Trey Jones re-booted and the follow-up 2018 Swampfest became a reality once more. If you weren’t fortunate enough to attend one of the Ghetto Street comps in the early 2000’s, the Swampfest is basically this decade’s version, with some Florida flavor. Here’s a 14-minute glimpse into the non-stop antics that went down all weekend long. Shout-out to Ryan Herbach, Dave McDermott, Cody Diggs and the whole crew for helping put on an awesome event, and especially Trey for all his hard work and effort to give everyone a weekend they won’t forget.
Devon Smillie & Courage Adams: IN THE CUT - Flybikes "Journeys". You've seen the full riding edit from Flybikes' Courage Adams and Devon Smillie in Tenerife, now you can see what they get up to in between the insanely tech lines. These two are some of the easiest going guys out there, unless it comes to fingerboarding and then things get real.
IN THE CUT - 2018 Uncovered Series Stop 1 in Rising Sun, Maryland. The inaugural stop of Van Homan and Brian Kachinsky's Uncovered contest series at Mason Dixon Skatepark kicked off in a big way. People were hitting rafters repeatedly, wallriding the top of garage doors, and getting fed pizza by judges mid-run. After nearly burning down the whole place with his non-stop fuego in the finals, Pennsylvania's Mad Mike Guth took home a well-deserved first place.
We haven't missed a DUB Jam yet and a torrent of rain wasn't about to stop us this time. Despite that we still arrived late, so sorry to the folk who were shredding in the rain earlier on - you'll be able to catch all those clips in the official DUB video soon. As always the best times catching up with old friends and watching the next generation come through. The UK is definitely rife with serious street talent.
