Pro Freestyle is in its third year and we see lots of progression from event to event. The venue this year was spot on. The Beach Stadium in Scheveningen is the best location you could wish for if the weather cooperates. It was dry for five days in a row which was a big help. Only downfall was the strong wind from time to time but the kitesurfers weren't complaining about that one. The multiple sports event had BMX Street and BMX Park (Am and Pro classes) on the program to sign up for which were open for anyone who wanted to enter. Events like Pro Freestyle are needed for those riders who want to compete and hang out to see other riders do well in their runs. It brings the scene together and it's a way to unite with fellow 'urban sports athletes'. With a Park set up by 040BMXPARK and a Street set-up by Nine Yards the riders had plenty to choose from. The surrounding grandstands and office/bar next to the arena with pumptrack and sponsor stands nearby, it was the place to be.
As usual the best Park riders in AM could have entered Pro and in fact winner Maxime Vautrinot was a rider from France who had signed up for Pro but later decided to ride Amateur. Local Jari Roggeveen (NED) pulled it together for second place just in front of Gunis Atmats who made the trip over from Latvia with loads of others.

On June 21, 2017, GT Bicycles, a premium brand of Dorel Industries (TSX: DII.B, DII.A), will roll out its very first feature video, Seriously Fun. In early 2015, GT took to the streets of Los Angeles and Kansas City to uncover a plethora of untapped spots across these two vastly different cities. With Ben Ward, GT BMX product and team manager at the helm, the brand released two successful shorter web videos – GT in LA and Bleeding Kansas – to kick off the beginning of a new era for GT BMX.
"GT in LA and Bleeding Kansas were incredible for the brand and showed the industry what we could
"I remember my parent's 40th birthday. "Over the hill" written in black icing, with a sugary tombstone and a vulture perched on top of their macabre cake. It was so distant. So inconceivable, personally: The beginning of the end. And now, here we are...In the hollow anticipation of impending change, this is a collection of clips on the way to my 40th.I hope you enjoy." - Matt Coplon
The squad has been going in for the last year from coast to coast in the US, to Brazil, France, Germany, the UK, Taiwan & more, so this is sure to be amazing. GT selected BMX industry videographer and editor Andrew Brady to bring Seriously Fun to life. It was Brady’s overall passion and excitement for the project which made him the main man for the job.
