This synergy combined with a mutual appreciation of each other’s skill and dedication meant this felt like the perfect partnership.

In line with the new voting system introduced this year to increase the number of members on the UCI Athletes’ Commission, applications are now open to candidates from the BMX Freestyle discipline. Elections for the representatives – one man and one woman for each discipline – will be held during the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in Chengdu, China, from November 8 to 12. Under the new voting system, not only will the number of athletes on the UCI Athletes’ Commission increase, but there will be men-women parity across all disciplines. All representatives on the Commission will be elected for a term of four years, from the 2017 UCI Congress to the 2021 UCI Congress. To be eligible, candidates must be currently active in the sport or have retired within the last four years before the election date.

The final list of candidates, as well as more information about the voting procedure (exact venues and timetable) will be published on the UCI website on November 6th, before the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships.

Any athletes participating in the BMX Freestyle competition in Chengdu will be eligible to vote for one
