The 2012 Redline Cup Series qualifying began in January in the east region at Thrifty Acres Indoor BMX in Greenville, Michigan. Since that opening qualifier, eleven of the 76 regional qualifying races have been held. The qualifying series features races in the east, central, and west regions of the United States and Canada. Qualifying for the finals will conclude at Grand Valley BMX in Grand Junction, Colorado, August 25. With the qualifying series spanning over 8 months and featuring 24 qualifying races in the central region, 27 qualifying races in the east region, and 25 races in the west region, this 76 race regional series is sure to have a qualifying race near you.

Sometimes we wonder how kids get so good so fast, but seeing how much material there is for them to use to get better, must be a big help. Other than the illegal copy of BMX 101 Tricks video, we did not have much to learn from. No, there was no internet back then, only a few people out there had a video camera so getting to see the newest tricks took a while. Things have changed, and it shows in the level of the riders that pop up at the local parks, with some of them having resi sections and foampits. That also boosts their level to the next level. It also helps that RIDE UK puts out special issues like the BMX BASICS that we got our hands on through Seventies Distribution, who are the main supporters behind this special magazine. Next to tons of step by step explanations on how to do tricks, it's got important information on how to fix your bike, sponsorship, it has a list of Trails/Skatepark/Street etiquette that is really helpful for all riders out there.
