Düsseldorf/Cologne, march, 2006. The Cologne Youthpark once again plays host to the Suzuki BMXMasters, this year one month later than usual, between July 21st and 23rd.
It's an obvious concern to us bikers that city parks are going up all over America and not allowing bikes to participate. Like I said in my article "Bikers vs the Government" this is definitely verging on a civil rights issue. Battling the problem from this perspective is asking for a legal court mess I don't think is necessary. The best angle is to offer all the reasons why it's nonsense, and do what we can to help educate as many people as possible. Biking, skating and inlining compete on the same ramps and courses at all the biggest professional contests in the world so it makes sense that we should all be able to session the same parks together. Right now that's not the fact.
The 010 crew over in Rotterdam, The Netherlands are calling for the After Winter Jam. It's a flatland event that will take place at SkateLand (indoor skatepark at the Piekstraat 45 in Rotterdam) on Saturday 8 April 2006. The place opens at 6pm and the classes to enter are: Expert and Master. The afterparty starts at 8pm and Renato will show the FLATtv 7 DVD for the first time so get yourselves ready for that.
