Rick Thorne has given up BMX. Sick of all the comments he received he made a switch to playing golf.
The weather has been terrible lately but the Sugar Hills trails are looking sharp. There's no puddle to be seen and all jumps are shaped. Those who expect to see mud will be disappointed, the trails proved once again that they can take a rain shower or two. Thanks to all the locals for digging. See you at the mini-FAT-JAM during the afternoon or at the OJA party at night for cheap beer and live music.

FLATLAND is the most artistic form of BMX riding, blending unique styles and cultural backgrounds. Riders exhibit intense focus and discipline as they execute a seamless array of tricks on their bike. Flatland also has an international flavor, capturing the creative influence from people around the world. We capture this creativity and variety of riding styles through our Annual Flatland Voodoo Jam event in New Orleans, Louisiana. This year will be the 2nd annual event and promises to be larger and more recognized than last year's event.

We've conducted surveys with our customers to see if they if they would be interested in a 26" cruiser, and we had such great response we decided to make it happen. There was quite a bit of excitement about the fact that it's an affordable bicycle that is still a BMX bike for older or lazy guys who still want to jump off curbs on the way to the liquor store.
Since RIDE BMX is a FATBMX media partner, we'd like to believe that we can send you to a movie that was posted on their new and improved message board. Click the RIDE banner in the left column to go to their news/blog and find a very interesting clip made by Mark Eaton's Bangpictures. Tailwhip to icepics, crazy tailwhip transfers, pocket airs, front flips, no-handed 720-s and a new trick that I'm not giving out yet.
Street luge and canoe sky diving didn't really fit the X-Games program but with additions like Super-motard (superretard) and now Rally racing, the extreme sports festival is turning into a motorsports event. Or maybe you can call it the Travis Pastrana Nitro circus show as he can participate in Freestyle Motocross, Supermoto and Rally racing at the 2006 edition in Los Angeles. Anyway, here's the press release on the addition of the latest sport to the games.
