Old Skool Meet at U.S. Nationals/Roseville this Weekend Not all Vintage BMX collectors are able to attend the Rockford tradition – so now the West Coast has one of their own. The first (hopefully annual) Vintage Meet, Show & Swap will be held this coming weekend at ABA’s US National in Roseville, CA.. And word from the BMX collectors is that it’s going to be pretty incredible. Legendary collector Tim Cook, owner of one of the most pristine and expensive bike collections, has confirmed his appearance … and Nor Cal racing legends such as Cheri Elliott, John Crews, “Dizz” Hicks and Johnny “UBR” Valdez are set to make an appearance throughout the day. To top it all off, Oak Creek BMX and the ABA are holding the “CLASH OF THE DINOSAURS” Sidehack challenge. This past weekend, EIGHT hacks from the Modesto/Manteca area showed up for practice. With more hacks coming down from the Northwest – it looks like this will be the biggest Sidehack class since the 1982 So Cal hack series

If you're running late you can always send them an online postcard or a simple e-mail. They'll probably be surprised to hear from you on their B-day.
The new G-sport Ribcage rim is finally ready, it has passed final quality control. They now are available in 48H Chrome. Hard Anodised finish and 36's are on the next shipment. The price is a little higher than some other rims but this reflects the special material and finishes. The material used is around 20% stronger than even the 7000 series aluminium used for rims. And the hard anodising gives a black finish that performs nearly as well as chrome. Spoke holes are guaranteed not to pull through no matter what… Final production weights are 482g (1.06lbs) for hard anodised and 525g (1.15lbs) for chrome. The packaging is pretty cool too. We managed to find a way to use cardboard instead of plastic, this actually gives more protection to the rim during shipping and is better for the environment too.

Last weekend out little hometown (Aarle-Rixtel) held its annual Harley Davidson meeting. It's an event that scares people off because all kind of freaks show up for the weekend. Saturday saw a lot of rain so not many rebels came by bike. Sunday was good however and the bike show was better outside than it was indoors (same shit every year).
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
