Carlo Griggs used to give Matt Hoffman fits on the quarterpipes and vert ramps. Both were on Skyway at the same time and both were amazingly good.

Actually Mat and Carlo are still involved. They both started a BMX company (Mat: Hoffman Bikes, Carlo: Proper Bike Co.) and both have private ramps so they can ride whenever time allows.

It's Carlo's B-day on May 7th. Make sure he knows.

BMX superstars launch grand re-opening of Jaycee's BMX Park. GREENVILLE, NC, April 2006 - The Park that has become home to local BMX professionals for over a decade has just received a face-lift. On Saturday, May 6, Greenville Recreation & Parks will officially unveil the renovated Extreme Park. The event kicks off at 2 p.m in Jaycee Park and will be open to the general public at no cost. Local BMX professionals will be putting on a thirty minute demo followed by a raffle and autograph session. The event is to showcase the new park by the BMX riders; some of whom had a hand in the new design.

 "The riders got together, formed a design group and came up with their suggested layout for the new and improved ramps," said Boyd Lee, Director of Greenville Recreation & Parks. 

-Alejandro Caro collected his Red Bull helmet at the weekend....but it looks like it wasn’t just any kind of party and I hope he kept his helmet tucked away. In the aftermath of Colombias biggest dirt comp organised in part by Alejandro, he was feeling pretty tired...but there is something about the limo, red carpet and free drink that made him feel a whole lot better real fast. Alejandro will also be in Europe again this summer, starting out with NASS in the UK. He’s currently learning the real, although more painful version of the superman... Right now

SNICKERS is back for its third year at Download, the only UK festival to showcase BMX, skate and live rock music at one event. SNICKERS announces further details of its skate and BMX schedule with the introduction of SNICKERS UK FRIDAY at the SNICKERS BOWL. Taking place on day one of the Donnington event (Friday 9th June), SNICKERS UK Friday provides a platform for British BMX talent and a chance for UK athletes to ride the awesome SNICKERS BOWL, previously open to invited international pros only. The size of an Olympic swimming pool but twice as deep – this hugely anticipated and unmissable structure comes to the UK just once a year.

The best-established British riders and next generation of UK talent will come together as thirteen riders compete in this invitation only jam. 

EVENT CANCELLED!

Due to expected bad weather, the 2006 Huerth Ditch Jam in Germany has been cancelled. So is the Zion Jam.

New dates will be announced a.s.a.p.

Pete's Ditch is the venue of the jam that is scheduled for 29 April next. The Ditch is located in the Cologne, Germany area and starts at 15:00hr and will go on until it gets dark. There will be a few new cemented hits and good music all day.  The Germ Ditch is located at the old Klaerwerk in Huerth, near Cologne. With spots like this it's always good to have some good directions because nobody in the area will know what you are looking for.

Writing reviews is a tough task. You don't want to piss the makers off who have spent months getting the thing produced but it's no use either to praise every production so you lose track of what's good, and what's not. We like to give fair reviews to every DVD we get sent. We also apologize if the reviews take a while before they're up. It's simply how things go sometimes. Transcend is a production of Ty Stuyvesant & Steve Machuga who spent over a year to collect all the footage and then edited it to this very DVD. It has basically 14 rider sections with some freestyle skiing thrown in for (good) measure. Riders include Sean Burns, Anthony Napolitan, Ryan Worcester, Dennis McCoy, Jamie Bestwick, Seth Holton, Steve Machuga, Harrison Boyce, Nick Halsey, Dan Montgomery and more. Each of them have a section with one better than the other but with this group of riders you are guaranteed to have some quality riding going on. Harrison Boyce and Nick Halsey impressed me with their part and so did Ryan Worcester. 

Big, Big News!!!!!! As of yesterday Scotty Cranmer and Felt Bicycles have extended their contract at least until the end of 2008. Felt could not be happier with Scotty and what he is doing to spread the good Felt word. Scotty has been with Felt Bicycles since 2003 and we really wanted to keep the momentum going, both Scotty and Felt are happy about the deal and looking forward to a great future together.

They hail from Devon, they live to ride, and they go under the name of ‘the moVment’. Notorious to Devon, these local BMX’ers are hosting their third annual ‘moVment Jam’ on 27th and 28th May, at local Decoy Park, with an opportunity for any amateur riders to come along and take part, or simply watch the event unfold. It all started in 2003, when a small group of likeminded BMX’ers from Newton Abbot came together to create a low key BMX jam in response to their local trails being closed. Following an unprecedented response from the local community, Teignbridge Council resolved to work alongside the BMX enthusiasts to help respond to health and safety concerns, and support their dreams for a better facility ... and so the Movement Jam was born!

Now in its third year, and charging £5 to compete, proceeds from the Jam will go towards “The Decoy Misfits BMX Dirt Club” - a local skate/bmx park for the whole community and with a recent injection of £5,000 from the National Lottery fund and support from the local council, the target of £100,000 is beginning to look very possible.
