Nashville Pussy played at the Red Bull Elevation contest in Vancouver, Canada. They were pure rock 'n roll and gave it all they got. After the concert it was off to the next party and before I knew it we were walking the Whistler streets with the band. We started talking and one of the band members' dad is actually from The Netherlands. Even better, they were going to do some shows in Holland soon. I asked them to send me a mail with the locations because I wanted to see the band play again.
The X-games are over and the vert ramp saw some revolutionary riding that did not have much to do with the shape of the ramp. Anyway, thanks for voting and here are the results:
| Someone is going to get seriously hurt | |
| It's different, I like new stuff | |
| You not only need skills but big balls too | |
| Set-ups like this require more practice | |
| Can't wait to see the riding | |
The FAT-JAM is happening next week. Maybe you can help spread the word as we don't know how to do that. The FAT-JAM will be low-key as you're used from us. If that is your style, we will see you on Saturday. You're welcome to bring your own booze and your own barbeque and make sure you bring your friends too. There is no time schedule so even to slackers will make it on time. The music will be plugged in around one o' clock on Saturday 19 August so take that as the official opening of the FAT-JAM. Bring your favorite CD's if you want, or maybe someone has one of those i-pods with some good shit on it that we can plug in. Don't expect Mat Hoffman, Todd Lyons or Jay Miron to be here this year. Those times have long gone. If you want to ride your bike on some small trails, you have all day to master the doubles. There will be no one sending you off because you don't have the right wristband or did not register.
The Chenga 2 BMX Contest is Saturday August 19th. Practice and registration will begin around 10AM and the contest will start around 1PM. Entry Fees are $25 for Beginner & Expert, and $50 for Pro. We are having a Jam at the Belchertown Skate Park this Saturday, August 12th starting at 1:00 and we would love it if you can come. We just finished building a new rythym section, a street spine, a curb-to-wall ride, a vert wall, a new ledge, and a new grind box-- the park is awesome! We are located off of Route 202 in Belchertown, Massachusetts behind the police station. Everyone is required to wear a helmet due to some trouble we have been having with the police lately. If you have any questions or need more detailed directions, just let me know by phone (413) 687-5704. Cost is $5.
NEWBURY PARK, Calif. (August , 2006) – Setting a new level of dirt jumping domination, Giant BMX Team rider, Corey Bohan, won his third consecutive gold medal in BMX freestyle dirt competition at X Games 12 on Thursday. The win was a defining moment in Bohan’s career and an important moment for Giant with Corey winning on his new signature Giant BMX bike, the limited edition Rhythm Team. Bohan’s win will inspire riders of all levels and is a direct result of Giant’s involvement with the sport. “Giant is proud to congratulate Corey on yet another gold at X Games,” said Skip Hess, president of Giant Bicycle, Inc.

Flatland riders are going to leave us alone at the FAT-JAM this year. This is the second flatland contest that is scheduled on the same day (August 19th). First we had one in Germany but now they're getting closer (Belgium). Maybe we should throw a flatland session in the FAT-JAM this year to keep a few of the party animals close to us. Anyway, here'the info for the summer session Flatlandjam in Menen, Belgium:
John Povah is taking the etnies team on tour on the West Coast. Check if they are coming close to where you are. If that is the case, make sure to head over there to hang out with the crew (Wade, Rich, Baker, Layos, Alcantara, Walker, Heaton, Guenther) .
Frank Lukas and his crew are setting up a flatland jam / best trick contest in Koblenz, Germany. The date is 19 August 2006, the exact same date as the annual FAT-JAM in Aarle-Rixtel. Frank has gathered 1200 Euros for the best trick contest and we have nothing like that to hand out. Frank has arranged palm trees and beach sand and we have some dirty bushes and some black sand. Sounds like Frank has things organized so if you want to skip the FAT-JAM this year (unless you like scuffing and rolling on the nearby grass field), Koblenz sounds like an option. The woodenflatland platform will be built next to the water and will be 11 meter X 22 meter. For more info go to:
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
