The new day has started and we just had some breakfast. We got this flyer of a German jam and realized it's happening today. Good thing we're 9 hours ahead over here in Japan. So if you're close enough to Rollrausch in Wermelskirchen you can still get there today and don't forget to bring your sleeping bag as it's an open end jam so you can sleep in the office or in the park when you're ready to pass out. Doors open at 3pm.
Today the brackets were drawn for the Red Bull Circle Of Balance flatland contest in Japan. 6 riders were automatically seeded according to their previous COB results. There was a full day of practice and some rehearsals took place for the sold out show tomorrow. The battle system will leave one rider as the winner. After the draw today, the 6 groups are looking like this:
This one is for the old school BMX-ers out there:
Working in the BMX industry is fun. If you want to make good money, stay in school. If BMX is your passion and it's all you think about, there are a couple of options to live the BMX life 24/7. Once you've started your own BMX gig, you are putting in long days to make ends meet. But it's your choice. A 9 to 5 regular job or working your ass off in the BMX industry and scraping by.
Adam Banton is the newest member of the UGP team for 2007. "Chalk up another front brake rider". Adam is going to hold it down for the west coast. His bio and some of his favorite stories will be up on undergroundproducts.com as soon as he gets back from snowboarding.
Koelle Alaaf! Carnaval. Hate it, or love it but wethepeople in Cologne organized a comstumized party at their facility that started off at 11:11am after two pallets of Reisdorff had arrived. As soon as the double decker bus from Duesseldorf arrived with 70 people on board, the place was full and it just took off from there.
After a hell of a long trip being sandwiched in between two strangers for 11 hours we have made it to Tokyo, Japan for the Red Bull Circle Of Balance (COB). We scoped the city for a bit last night and got some Indian Curry which actually tasted pretty good. The hotel internet wasn't easy to figure out but we're online now and hope to bring you some (daily) updates of what's going on over here.
It couldn't be stopped. Kase Filipowicz is now featured in a DK advertisement. After a week long sponsor campaign on FATBMX, Kase chose to represent DK Bicycles and celebrated with an abubaca on the hood of this SUV.
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
