After 5 weeks of perfect weather it started to rain on Monday. The jumps for the BMX session in Herten, Germany had already been built and looked awesome but unfortunately noone was able to ride them because of the heavy wind and too much rain. The organization did everything in their power to make it happen but in a rider meeting that took place minutes ago it was decided that BMX is not happening. The bands are still on the program for today and we're all chilling in a killer rider area but there won't be much riding
The man who has become known for making miracles happen on his bike is now doing his part to make miracles happen for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Greenville BMX star Dave Mirra recently donated $20,000 to the eastern North Carolina chapter of the NMSS after winning the money during the Toyota Celebrity/Pro Grand Prix of Long Beach earlier this month. Mirra, who is best known for his success competing on the freestyle BMX circuit, won the pole for the celebrity race held April 15 in Long Beach, Calif. Earning the top starting spot was worth $15,000, and the 33-year-old took home an additional $5,000 for winning the race.

“Grounded” World Premiere Free to All at etnies’ Headquarters on May 18, 2007
A lot has been going on in the Felt camp and I have been super busy finishing up the 2008 line of bikes. The bikes look good, be on the look out late summer. The biggest news is the Scotty Cranmer is now a bicycle shop owner. SC ACTION SPORTS opened on April 1st. It was an empty building to start so it will take a while to get fully stocked but from what I hear it is growing everyday. Of course a full line of Felt BMX bikes are in. Back in the day there was a huge BMX shop in NJ called Bicycle World of Howell, over the years ownership changed and the BMX focus was lost. The opportunity came up to open a bike shop in the building and Scotty and his family are going for it. The Howell BMX track is behind it and has plenty of land for other projects when the time comes. Cool to see another rider becoming a store owner. Don’t think the new bike shop has kept him tied down, he has been a busy man. At one point last week he had a Jeff Z. shooting him for Fox photos, Fuel TV doing a “day in the life” and Walter P. was with him for a week filming for a Props interview. In the middle of this he flew to CA to have a meeting with a new potential sponsor. Once that calmed down he headed off to Utah, New Mexico, Dallas and Austin to do some signings at Vans retail stores.
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
