This is an online petition in support of the continued Bmx Bicycle enthusiast use of Los Angeles Park & Rec land in Griffith Park, located in Los Angeles, Ca. The location in question is an otherwise un-usable plot of land, located between Forest Lawn Drive, and the Los Angeles river. The location is near to the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Griffith Park. The land has been in use harmoniously, respectfully, and safely, by Bmx bicycle enthusiasts for a number of years.

The recent floods of the east coast have totally shocked the nation. One cannot imagine what the victims have had to go through. As a community bmxers have always wanted to help out fellow bmxers at a time of need, well now it’s time to flow that mate ship further than just bmxers and it’s now time to help out those victims of the east coast floods.
Here's an update from the recent request that was send out last week for support for a national flood relief bmx jam.

Beside having a lot work on our hands holding the Simpel Session contests, we have been keeping ourselves busy with a dream-size project that, we truly believe, will be greeted with both hands by not only the local action sports scenes around the Baltic States, but around this side of Europe as well. We are developing a new BMX-MTB-SKATE center in Tallinn, one that consists of a big 2050 m2 indoor skatepark, MTB and BMX indoor tracks and different training facilities, as well as a full-size UCI compatible outdoor BMX track and the first outdoor concrete bowl (400 m2) in the country.

We had two things on the schedule for Saturday. The BMX Hall Of Fame, and the UCI BMX SX in Chula Vista. It was easy to do both in one day as they were both located at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. We headed south from our hotel in San Diego and half an hour later we took the OTC exit. We had not had breakfast yet so we went to Togo’s, which is similar to a Subway restaurant. The footlong filled the belly. We filled up the tank of the Ferrari and continued to the OTC. On arrival we got stopped by security. I said that

Ben Snowden, Martti Kuoppa and I had one of the best opportunities to take a trip to Trinidad and Tobago in the Port of Spain to help introduce BMX freestyle to the kids over there. The trip began with our first flight landing in Miami before we headed over seas. Let me say this, there is no better place to stop on a layover. We went to Mike Spinner's house where Mike set up a party for us and Austin Coleman. Austin and Ben decided to pull pranks on their bikes during the party.... but that's a whole other story.

As BMX riders we see things differently. Flatland riders go apeshit when they see a giant smooth flat area that has the perfect surface. Others would just drive by there and did not thing much about the place. Dirt riders that are hunting for a spot found the jackpot on a slightly downhill area with the right dirt hidden from everyday life. Digging is on when they find something like that. Riding street you're always looking out for spots. New buildings are made all the time fences and benches get put up that could become a sweet riding spot. It's a matter of searching, and those who search, they will find. This photo showed up in the newspaper. Look at that roof!

When there's ice, snow and cold outside, it's nice to have an indoor place to ride. If you don't know yet, running indoor parks is hard work so do everything you can to support them and keep them alive. If you don't, you're stuck playing outside in the cold.
