Jamie Bestwick has made history again today by claiming a record seventh-straight gold in BMX Vert at X Games Foz do Iguacu and taking the lead for the most consecutive X Games gold medals of all time. An undeniable force on the vert ramp, he dominated the finals by beating his closest competitor, Coco Zurita by nine points to make for a very convincing win. Besides today’s gold being Bestwick’s incredible seventh straight, it’s the British rider’s 11th career gold and his 13th overall. He’s also now in the lead for the most consecutive X Games gold medals of all time.
“Seven medals in a row is no small feat, but when you're inspired by the beauty of Foz do Iguacu, the insane Brazilian fans and with the X Games being globalized on one of the biggest platforms in the world, how can you not rise to the challenge and bring home gold for Monster Energy,” said Bestwick.
