A weekend of BMX and the 1st Annual HarborSHRED at FREEDOM Park BMX competition will be held on Saturday, July 25th, 2009 at Freedom Skate/BMX Park in Mexico, New York. The event had originally been scheduled to take place 10 miles away in Oswego, NY but has recently been relocated to Freedom Skate/BMX Park. The contest is a Pro/Am Jam Style contest with some of the top riders in BMX participating in this event to raise money for free and low cost parks across Upstate New York. Each year nearly 250,000 people attend Harborfest, a 4 day festival in Oswego, New York. 
Seeking to find the best amateur skaters and BMX riders across the country this summer, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour announced today the complete schedule for the 2009 season. The BMX portion of the Tour officially kicks off May 24 in Lakewood, N.J. at the Incline Club, and registration for all events is now open at gatoradefreeflowtour.com. The 2009 Gatorade Free Flow Tour will include a total of 20 BMX competitions (four BMX vert and 16 BMX park) at 16 parks across the United States. The winners in each of the 20 BMX competitions will be flown to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, taking place at the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September 17-20. Encompassing the “Flow to Pro” theme that is the cornerstone of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, the two overall BMX park and vert champions earn a spot to compete against the pros at the final stop of the Dew Tour, the PlayStation® Pro in Orlando, Fla., October 15-18.
