Denmark's best BMX riders are moving into the new Nationalt Elite Training Center at Copenhagen's BMX Club's training facility. Here, the elite riders of the national team get the opportunity to train together and at the same time be close to Denmark's Cykle Union and Team Denmark.

Denmark always had an active BMX scene, especially for a small country. However, never before a full-length BMX DVD has been released. A group of BMX enthusiasts from the small city of Aalborg decided to change this released "Stop Thinking". The main man behind the lense, Lasse Christensen, took two years to film his friends and the result speaks for itself. Mange tak!
When was your first BMX race and do you remember it well? Malene Kejlstrup Sørensen: My first race was in 2012. I remember I got second and was pretty satisfied about that.
How did you find BMX? Malene Kejlstrup Sørensen: My dad raced BMX, so he took me and my brother to the nearest bmx track. We borrowed some bmx bikes and just had fun. Since then I have ridden my BMX bike.
Training, traveling, racing, what is the best part about BMX for you? Malene Kejlstrup Sørensen: ALL… hard to choose, but racing for me is my motivation to do my trainings. Traveling and meeting new people all around, is also really nice.

How big was your struggle even making it to the Olympics? Simone Christensen: I think I was pretty good to not worry too much about points during the races the year towards the Olympics.. so just did my best every time and tried to archive goals for every specific race.. but when I crashed and broke my collarbone in Papendal it started to get pretty exciting, as I couldn't go to the world championship and therefore lost a lot of world ranking points from the worlds 2015, where I had a lot! But luckily my good result during the year kept me in the spot for an Olympic place!
What were your personal goals two weeks before the Olympic race? Simone Christensen: It was to make the final! Couldn't dream of anything bigger than standing in an Olympic final!
