With nearly two thousand fans looking on, Charlie “Monkey” Bowers proved he was the ghost with the most at Red Bull Trick or Treat. Over 30 BMX riders competed for $4,000 worth of prizes on a course consisting of Halloween-themed obstacles, from a 22ft. coffin-shaped box jump, to a tombstone wallride and hand-painted grind boxes complete with cobwebs, bones and bats as decoration. A familiar face from the X Games, Brian Kachinsky set the scene, suggesting it was contest ghosts (those who rarely are seen competing) versus contest goblins (those who destroy the contest scene). Charlie Bowers may have never competed on national TV, but he showed his tricks were prime time, blasting huge airs over the quarter pipe, nailing a vader foot jam and 540 hurricane on the sub box and an icepick grind on the wallride. He humbly described his feelings upon winning against big time BMX pros, “I couldn’t imagine it, I have no idea how it happened. Everyone out here rode amazing.” Guest judge and BMX vert legend Kevin Robinson gave some insight to his win, “Charlie put so much energy into every run he had, he just really stood out.” 
Everyone who has been involved in getting a spot to ride knows that it can be a long process to make things happen. The Helm trails in Helmond had received some support fromt he local council which was a good start but with the bad dirt and open playground style of location, it needed some help. If it wasn't for Mike van de Kerkhof, not much would have happened. He was the driving force behind getting the Helm Trails back off the ground. After numerous phonecalls and visits the place received an upgrade, and a good one at that.

The ABA BMX Fall Nationals - Disney Cup event was as exciting as ever. With 10 countries and 40 U.S. states being represented you can see why! There were also three ABA BMX PRO SERIES scores on the line, many of the sports top athletes were on hand to take a shot at getting some much needed points towards the ABA BMX titles and the brand new fuel injected 450 RMZ Suzuki`s that go with them. There were several 2008 Olympians in the house this weekend. Team USA's Kyle Bennett was back on the ABA BMX scene and was looking good all weekend long. South Africa's Sifiso Nhlapo was also
