The bcrossionale 2006 is done. The little BMX-Video contest has stepped out of children`s shoes. 24 teams/peoples send in their work for competition and the level has raised a big step ahead compared to last years level. We really loved to welcome the first 3 artist from outside Germany from Austria for taking part at the bcrossionale videocontest. The premiere and award ceremony was held in the Skate Hall in Aurich. About 150 people joined the Adventsjam this day and stayed the afternoon to enjoy the premiere of the 24 well made videos on a big screen and with good sound.
Technical equipment does help sportsmen and women a lot nowadays. Visiting with Rob van den Wildenbergand his family did learn me that technical equipment used in bicycle track riding has found its way in BMX. On the pictures you can see a crank set that Rob is using during his training and practise sessions. Sensors and a chip do register the power put on the pedals by he rider. After each training session the information gathered can be shown on the computer and it reads the Watts that a rider has put on the pedals.
January 2007.There are many exciting things happening with BMX now that it has been accepted into the Olympics. Coming soon, information on the $ 100,000 Pro JAG BMX World Championship Final. We still think it's funny that Markus Arnoldi and his band are participating at the Eurovision Song Festival in Germany. National TV for Kalle, that's crazy. But Kalle always had the talent and the drive to do things right. Remember the Beware videos in a time that not everyone and their uncle had a video camera and editing on a computer was just starting out. It didn't take Kalle long to learn new tricks. At least he just went for it and usually on his first attempt he came pretty close. I'm thinking flip fakies and flairs (flip-180-s) on vert ramps in the early '90-s. Anyway, we found these pics on the net and thought we'd share them with you. Good luck to Kalle on his way to being # 1.
We not only received a pre-production copy of the On the Clock video at FATBMX but La sent a copy of their catalog too. We had actually picked up a copy of the catalog at Interbike as I thought a new magazine had just come out. You see, the folks at Volume are not afraid to do something different. When other companies claim to save trees by doing an online-only catalog, Volume comes out with a magazine scale catalog. If you have not seen the Gypsy magalog, it's time to bug your dealer for one or contact Volume yourself, it's a must see and hands down the best catalog we've seen for a while. It has interviews with their riders, lots of product shots, their ads and great photos.
While you are at the Volume dealer, buy a copy of their new DVD; On the Clock. The Jason Enns part is by far my favorite and it's not
Trains and BMX was the contest format for the Tjoeketjoek jam on Saturday in Rotterdam. With DJ Koen Soulcycle, host Surfstad, a Jury of old guys from The Hague and all new youngstar BMX riders from the Netherlands were the ingredients of this jam. Skateland opened their doors for a Saturdaynight jam. Four riders in a team riding thru the park like a train. The teams Rearwheel, KLM and Roffa where rocking in the final.
Team Roffa had a kind of dead wish tricks from the ghetto´s of Rotterdam. While team KLM proved their flying skills by opening with a frontflip (by Nicky) and some real high moves by Daniël Wedemeijer. But the guys really riding like a train were team Rearwheel with Vladdie, Michael, Brendan and Marten.

We heard it somewhere, half-shirts are coming back. We don't mind as long as it's the ladies who wear them. A mini skirt (or whatever she's wearing) and a matching green BMX bike make this Pin Up worth looking at. Thanks to Blackman for the contribution.
