Last week we got invited to visit a Red Bull X-Fighters event from up close. We received the invite from Red Bull and when they invite you for a good time, you better grab the opportunity. The parking pass we got brought us straight to the shuttle. The shuttle brought us straight to the VIP tent. In the VIP tent we went straight to the (open) bar. Man, things were already looking good! With a bit of persuasion we made it to the riders area and then to the stands where we met up with our BMX crowd. The sold out crowd loved the FMX show but we loved the afterparty even more. We ended up staying in 2 star Hotel Le Vito. One star on the hood, one star on the back. Enjoy the pics. 
In the bike business you might as well claim your own invention before other people walk away with the idea and tell everyone they've got a new product out. Daniel Dhers overcame a tour stop that had given him trouble in the past. Daniel never had good luck in Portland until he put the hammer down in his first run to win BMX Park. Mike Spinner had an outstanding run that included a quad whip and a 1080 but Dhers came out of the gate with a run that included a 720 can/can, nipple tuck, Alleyoop 3 whip transfer, and a huge double whip air. 
With four REDLINE Global Team members - Damien Godet (France), Manuel DeVecchi (Italy), Rob van den WILDENBERG and Raymon van der BEIZEN (both from The Netherlands) in the Semi’s, there was the rare possibility that Flight bikes could’ve filled half of the gate in the Olympic main. But REDLINE would gladly settle for 2 out of the 8. 
Summer Session!!! Rain on Saturday, Rain on Monday but the sun showed up on Sunday for the T-Mobile Extreme Playground Summer Session. The Miniramp contest was part of an event with bands (Antiflag, Pennywise, Mando-Diao) and a World Cup wakeboarding event. The actual contest was planned for Sunday which was the only day that it was dry. With the event being live on MTV and Freecaster.tv it was good that some riding got done. It would have been a shame to send the following 14 riders home without hitting the IOU spine mini: Ben Hennon, Brad Simms, Sergej Geier, Bommel, Harry Main, Alex Bourbignon, Dave Osato, Arthur Dietrich, Brian Kachinski, Anton, Kevin Liehn, Sprosse, Ondra Slez and Mark Koenig. The head to head system kicked off in the afternoon with Sven "Sprosse" Lehmann (GER) riding against Alex Bourbignon (Fra).
