IKONIX's Bob Haro and Brand Manager John Buultjens were on the Taipei Cycle Show floor this week with the IKONIX FS1 to meet with partner companies, international importers and the bicycle media.
The Taipei Cycle Show is one of the world's most influential cycling-industry expos, serving as a premier global stage for showcasing cutting-edge bicycle technology and high-end components. It was a year ago here that the first samples of the IKONIX FS1 freestyle BMX frameset were seen.
Bob first attended the Taipei Cycle Show in 1988 and has many friends and partners on the floor. This global expo is as much for catching up with old friends as it is for business.
The first 100, Limited-Edition Green FS1s sold out quickly, but a few Show Chrome and Matte Black FS1s remain available for pre-order with a ship date in May. Reserve yours now.
As many of you know, in addition to founding and operating IKONIX Bikes, I also run Bob Haro Design — a brand creating BMX apparel and merchandise inspired by my years in the sport. It features the artwork that started it all for me, along with new, progressive BMX designs. My time with IKONIX has limited how much I could focus on BHD, but I’m excited to share that the two companies have now come together to bring new BHD products to market. Our IKONIX/BHD warehouse is now well stocked with many of our best designs, along with several new items. Moving forward, BHD will also be producing all IKONIX soft goods.
I invite you to check out our shop for fun items and gifts for BMX family, friends, or even yourself. Thank you for your continued enthusiasm and support for our brands.

First, I would like to thank you for your support of me and my company over the years. From humble beginnings as a teenager, I started as a rider and designer and created Haro Bikes. After Haro Bikes, I continued to participate in BMX through Olympic collaborations with Nike in 2008 and 2012, the London Olympics in 2012, marquee events with Red Bull, and collaborations with some of the most iconic brands in sport, like Vans, Redline, BMX Action, Oakley, SE Bikes, JT Racing, Honda, Yamaha, Ducati, and many more.
My passion for BMX has never wavered, and I’m proud to introduce my new BMX brand, IKONIX. While my roots are in the ’70s and ’80s, as a contemporary designer, I wanted to create something new and innovative. The IKONIX FS1 is not a re-pop of past designs—it’s a look forward. It’s fresh, modern, rideable, performance-focused and loaded with details.
My vision for IKONIX is to build a new BMX brand that is steeped in my history and design ethos: high in quality and limited in numbers.
The FS1 represents the first of many exceptional products I plan to offer. I hope you can join me as

IKONIX Bikes Inc., the latest venture from BMX- freestyle pioneer and BMX Hall of Fame inductee Bob Haro, proudly announces the launch of its first product: the IKONIX FS1 frameset. This frame and fork pay homage to Haro’s groundbreaking designs from the early days of freestyle BMX while incorporating cutting-edge materials and technology for today’s riders.
Limited to just 150 individually numbered framesets, the IKONIX FS1 blends the past and present, offering BMX enthusiasts a chance to own a piece of history reimagined for modern performance. Customers will have the exclusive opportunity to select their preferred serial number, subject to availability.
“The FS1 is more than just a frameset—it’s a culmination of my decades of work in freestyle BMX design and culture,” said Bob Haro, Founder of IKONIX Bikes. “By merging classic design elements with modern technology, we’re giving today’s riders a premium product like no other on the market—one that honors
Bob Haro - First Interview for Rom Boys at MK16 back in 2016.
We managed to find a day to grab lunch with the father of BMX Freestyle: Bob Haro. After some computer work in the morning we cruised over to Cardiff by the Sea to see Bob. It still feels surreal to be able to do this. For Bob to actually know me and my son Philip is crazy. For us to be able to sit down with Bob to hear about his ongoing projects is out of this world. The respect for the man is huge and will forever be there. For him to call me a friend is nuts. Thanks for your time Bob as we know it's precious.
Driving in California ain't too bad when you can avoid the bad hours of the day. We know we could have visited more friends that day but the drive and busy schedule of the past days and the full days
What happened to Bob Haro BMX, the creator of Freestyle? Lets dive into a very brief history of Bob Haro, Haro BMX, and the birth of freestyle. I am having a blast doing these more history focused videos and I learn a ton every time I choose a new subject. Keep the suggestions coming!
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
