The first-ever international X Games in Mexico City will take place Sept. 7-9, 2007 at the Palacio de los Deportes, announced by Rick Alessandri, senior vice president, general manager, ESPN Consumer Products and X Games Franchise Managing Director. Along with presenting sponsor Rockstar Energy Drink, the competition will include the world's top athletes competing in the disciplines of BMX Freestyle, Skateboard Street, Skateboard Vert and Moto X. X Games Mexico will be co-organized by OCESA, the largest entertainment company in Latin America.
"Our goal has always been to serve action sports fans wherever they may be, and we believe the excitement of the X Games truly transcends across all cultures," said Alessandri.
"As the X Games franchise has continued to grow and become increasingly embraced internationally, we are very excited and enthusiastic about bringing the inaugural X Games Mexico event to the people of Mexico City."
