Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa and Rock Island and Moline, Illinois. This is where I grew up, river towns on the Mississippi. None of us knew it, but apparently river towns are historically rough places. We loved it because our towns were immortalized in movies and music. The Blues Brothers, Kiss, Johnny Cash, Bob Segar, we were proud of where we came from and puzzled when we went other places
