The BF-IT documentary is a video produced by Stew Johnson that I simply had to see. Thanks to Ben Ward I got a copy in the mail last week and waited for a good moment to watch it. With no distractions around I put the DVD in the player and hit the triangle. I got sucked into it from the start as I remembered many photos that BF had in the magazines. BF was a racer first and did both for a while. He simply liked to ride his
We need to support those who support BMX. If we want to keep companies interested in BMX, the sport needs to grow. The bigger BMX will get, the more opportunities will come our way. It's easy, you do. What you need to do is buy products that are made for, and made by those who support BMX. Check these etnies x Mutiny shoes for instance. If they're going to sell like hotcakes, etnies will be pumping more money into BMX. It's really that simple. Think about it next time you open your wallet.
Encounter BMX Lifestyle and Road Trip magazine is straight from Japan. It's the first issue we've got our hands on and it's put together by Editor in Chief Ysuyuki Takeo with the help of his team. Part of it is in English so that makes it easier to read for those of us who do not speak Japanese. I have the feeling that Encounter is there to support the Japanese BMX scene. It's important to have a magazine that actually supports the sport and wants to make it grow.
Easy, Stiff, Strong and Light are some of the words that can describe the 2013 GT Interceptor frame. It's an all around frame that you can ride at the track and at the trails. Check out the frame spec and look up that local GT dealership.
ssue 171 of Ride UK BMX magazine is a special one. The focus is on a warehouse project they had going on a while ago with riders from the following companies: Premium Products, DC Shoe Co., BSD, and stolen. In an empty warehouse the riders got to modify the set up and build new ramps with wood that was provided. After that it was time to film an edit. With all the team riders present and visits from special guests (Fooman, Paul Ryan, Ben Lewis, Mike Curley, Vinnie Mayne, Pete Sawyer and Sam Jones) RIDE UK gathered enough content to fill an entire magazine.
Number 109 of Freedom BMX magazine is a bit different. It's more of a product catalog with BMX stuff that is available right now in Germany. Well, products from the companies/distributors that give back to the magazine. Not everything is published. #109 is a bit of a quick book thrown in the mix as #110 will be available in 2 weeks already. In between the pages full of BMX bikes and bike parts, four riders get a bike check: Philipp Baum, Oliver Michel, Ralf Juchatz and Dennis Kicza. At least you get something to read and learn.
