2014 will mark the 10th anniversary of the formation of Blank as a BMX brand. The original idea was “what you see is what you get”; no clever marketing, no fancy graphics, no bizarre or zany colour options or unnecessary variations on product concepts. As such the prices were able to be set without having to factor-in those additional expenses and as such represented fantastic value for money. Just good, honest entry-to-intermediate-level product. Brakes, levers, cables, seats, grips – all at pocket-money prices. This didn’t mean the quality was any less; these items were made in the same factories, in the same way,
Magazines have their "regulars". Sections that come back issue after issue. But of course the mags also get to bring you stories. Exclusive stories that have not made it to the internet yet. The new issue of RIDE has four specials with on page 28: Ghost town Fools. Freaky stuff indeed in the report. Then on page 40 Ride meets up with the Stolen team in Canada. Hopefully the riders didn't give away anything through their facebook or instagram profiles because the goal was to see it in the mag first. Ride and Seek videos popped up online last week and RIDE brings you the story now. The cat is out of the bag so the clips could make it online. Last but not least is a story about Shape Shifters. Terrain that wasn't designed to be ridden gets destroyed. It seek and find in its own way. Or you take a shovel and creat something unique on your own. Focus is on creativity.
Matt Roe gets the cover of the new RIDE UK which is the Great Outdoors issue. Long days out in the sun, and when the sun goes down, the BBQ comes out. It's what we like, it's something we do. Issue 179 of RIDE captures a lot of it in this issue and a lot more. The Odyssey crew went to Cuba for instance, to smoke cigars and more. FIT Bike Co went to Barcelona, because it's got a lot of spots out there. BSD went a little more advanturous by going to Puerto Rico to explore what they have to offer over there. Nass is still one of the UK's biggest contests and RIDE covered the festivities. Some people have secret wooden set-ups. After appearing in #179, they're not as secret any more. In the next few days you can win HARO x Vans stuff on FATBMX. But you can also enter Ride's competition to win the whole package. Microphones of some sort were pointed at Pete Sawyer, Dan Barber and Lahsaan Kobza for an interview and the scene report is about Cuba.
