Making it on a cover of a magazine is a big deal. Making it on the cover as a European rider on an American magazine is an even bigger deal. Ben Lewis (UK) spent some time in the USA and RIDEBMX gave him an interview and the front page of their January/February 2014 issue. Congrats to Ben on that one. But not only Ben makes it in this issue as a European rider. Viki Gomez won the Nora Cup in flatland and they catch up with the rider who now lives in the Benelux (whenever he's around). Alex Kennedy (UK) gets an article as well as Australian Sam Willoughby for winning the BMX Racer Nora Cup award which strangely never received a mention in Austin but the Cup was presented to him at the next big race. Further articles are with the Demolition crew which visited the NorthWest, JJ Palmere gets interviewed as well as Dennis Enarson, Mike Hucker Clark, Garrett Reynolds and the Deadline crew. RIDE UK #182 is ab out to hit the newsstands. In this issue the RIDE Crew is turning back the clock. Shitty weather has started and it's all about looking forward to the next summer. But BMX continues with people taking every bit of dry weather to ride outdoors. Warm socks, gloves and a fleece hoody will help with the next session in the woods on the trails or a cruise through the city looking for spots. But then again, there are spots that never get too cold, like Austin, Texas which the RIDE crew already visited for the Texas Toast event. They even have an Odyssey Texas Toast package available for a lucky winner so make sure to check that one out. Also the RIDE crew went to Equador on an adventure that involved some BMX. What would you expect when you got off the plane in that country? Read about the trip in #182. Other articles include Profile hitting the runway and a complete Nightmare bike test. When it gets dark at 5pm, at least you'll have something to read.
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
