When is the last time that a boyfriend/girlfriend duo have made it on the cover of a BMX magazine? Or is this the first time ever? Barry Nobles and Caroline Buchanan got the timing right for the shot and put DK Bikes right there in the picture being team mates as well. It's one to put on the wall in the Nobles/Buchanan house. What else does the longest running BMX magazine bring for the month of February?
For under $300 you can buy yourself a bike that has the right geometry. That, for a start, is what you need. Remember the day when cro-mo three peice cranks were over 300 bucks? The HARO 100.1 comes with a set and has 25-9 gearing meaning it's got that cassette in the back. The complete comes with HARO Team grips and fat Kenda 2.25" tires. 2 sizes to pick from. How much again?
Issue 8 is the last number of Figure BMX magazine from France. New plans include a merge with SOUL BMX magazine which in 2014 will be a free BMX magazine, just like Figure was. Fabien Conry and his crew have put their heart and soul into every issue of Fugure and will now be helping out making Soul BMX magazine better than it ever was.
Congrats on Mark Vos for getting the cover of the new ART BMX Webzine that will go live tomorrow. As usual the ART crew has busted their asses to get you loads of BMX content for their next edition. Here's just a little selection of what you can find inside so make sure you peek in tomorrow when we'll post it up here on FATBMX.com.
Earlier this week Soul and Figure announced a merge which will happen some time in 2014. Until then Soul will come out as usual but this might be their last "solo" issue before the Figure staff gets involved and the mag goes free. You have a choice of buying the mag only, or adding the Mixtape DVD for three Euros. Here's a loosely translated contents list:
The Tioga D-Spyder 'S-Spec' pivotal is 145g of steady goodness. Start with Tioga's proprietary shell, designed with ergonomic contours for better sitting position. Next, full cutout webbing for additional weight savings, matched with reinforcement ridges underneath for exceptional impact resistance. Then add in the lightweight alloy pivotal hardware, and the result is 5.1oz of reliable seating goodness.
The Premium Spire has all the goods. No, it's not the cheapest bike on the market, but there's little you need to change in the upcoming time giving you the freedom to concentrate on your riding rather than parts giving up on you. Comes in one colour combo but it's the most neutral set up so it will work for most of you. Check the spec:
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
