Mutiny is proud to introduce Brandon Hoerres’ new signature frame, the Nocturnal. We have been working on this for quite a while, we sat down with Brandon to see what he wanted out of a frame and what we could do to fix the problem he has with denting down tubes. The Nocturnal features a double butted teardrop down tube this offers two huge advantages over a regular round tube. One is that this type of tube is very good at being dent resistant, in tests we hammered on the tube, the only damage was small dents on the bottom of the tube, we also took a normal tube and beat it the same way and pretty much flattened it.
2020 is keeping me updated on what's happening in Australia at the moment and around this time of the year (their summer), that's a whole lot. Sitting behind the computer getting a magazine together while the rest of your friends are out riding is rough. Add to that a couple of weeks of hospital and head surgery and you understand that life wasn't pretty for editor Matt Holmes. But BMX is strong and is motivating. Matt's drive to finish the mag was bigger than anything else resulting in a fine issue of 2020. Inside you find Heavy Metal Heroes, a Nitai photo profile, Shreddin' lives article, Who the fuck is Alex LiIv, Bio's with Ron Rampton, Jed Mildon, Abelardo Vargas, Malcom Hanslow and Garreth Hedfield. Video and music reviews, how-to's, 2 pages of product reviews, 'zine lookback, photo section, news pages, spot checks and most Australian jam and contest reports. Yup, it covers the Australian BMX freestyle scene
United just came out with a trick backpack. It's got straps on the outside to add your big sweater that didn't fit inside or anything else for that matter. The backside has a padded slot for your laptop and the medium sized travel bag has a wet & dry compartment for those times you go to the beach or ended up sweating like a pig at the park session.

You know how hard it is to get the right replacement bolt for your bike part when you strip it. The local bicycle shop doesn't carry your BMX parts, the hardware store doesn't know what you're talking about so what do you do? 43 bolts has you covered from head to toe or better, from stem bolt to crank bolt. 43 Bolts are made of grade 9 metal, are heat treated and made to resist harsh weather conditions.
It's not Joe on a Stingray but Barry on a Grifter. Those not old enough to know what a Grifter is, it's one of the first bikes that kind of looked like a motorcycle and arrived at the same time as the first "original" BMX bikes. Raleigh made them so they were big in the UK. Anyway, back to the subject. The DVD is great entertainment. To see people like Ian Morris, Zach Shaw, Jamie Bestwick and Jon Taylor push their 35 pound bikes to the next level for sure was a good laugh. It brings back memories to the "good old times" when bikes were hard to get and the welder came out before going to the local shop to get a new one because they had none.
