Things can change fast. Last weekend Jorge Jovel made it over to Germany to ride in the T-Mobile vert comp. He brought a sweet looking FIT S3 with him and we took some pics of his ride. When I realized I had no overall photo of the bike I asked Jorge to send a photo. His bike had not arrived yet (the airlines lost it) but when it did get there Jorge sent us this photo. The bike looks different now because he decided to go brakeless after the contest in Germany.
Felt have got a full range of complete bikes available. The Felt Base 18.5 is one of them. It's a stepping stone for those too big for a 16" bike and too little for a bike with 20 inch wheels with a full-sized toptube length. Colors: Pitch Black or Forest Green
Once a year BMX Plus! brings out the Buyer's Guide. If you are looking for a new ride and have not made up your mind yet on what to get, spend 5 bucks on this issue. It's got 250 bikes and frames listed with spec, pricing, contact info etc. It doesn't get much easier to see the bikes side by side and it's a lot quicker than sending $3 to every company for the 2009 product catalog. Next to all this bike info the January 09 issue also has an Interbike report (with fresh new 2009 products), 2009 Mirraco Icon Moto bike test, and also an FBM brakeless bike test. Events that were visited were the AST Dew Tour and the NBL Grands. Chad Kagy gets a bike check, Ricardo Laguna shows you 5 beginner dirtjump tricks and Australia's Cam Pianta receives a little Bio type of thing. Hiro gets the contents spread and Raul Ruiz is one stoked mofo as he gets the cover of Plus! doing a big rail. It is time to vote for the best dirt jumper, racer and freestyle rider of the year and you can win a DiamondBack Accomplish by doing so.
SANFORD TIRE: Multi-directional Interlocking cross pattern for traction on parks and trails. Smooth center ridge for low rolling resistance. New rubber compound for longer wear and abrasion resistance. Lightweight flex Kevlar bead.
I wasn't sure how much I remembered from the Levi's DVD after the big premiere party in Las Vegas but when I watched it again on the internet, everything came back. Now I can watch it on the tellie as the DVD came with the new issue of DIG. The only way for some shops to sell magazines these days is the insertion of a free DVD. The Levi's DVD will help save the paper from going straight to the old paper stack. And it's a shame that people don't read the mags anymore, especially the good ones like DIG. But the choice is to check out things on the internet for free (including motion) or pay for a magazine that shows the same things 6 weeks later. Yes we still love the mags and actually have saved every single BMX mag but they seem to have a hard time competing with the internet. If you like long shitting sessions on the toilet or want to bring a copy with you on the next road trip, get your hands on DIG 67. It not only has the book, but a DVD too.
Freedom BMX is the longest running BMX magazine in Germany. They're at issue 84 right now and over time they've covered the German BMX scene from all corners and helped shape BMX what it is today. With the ever growing scene it is difficult to choose which riders get the Bio's, which place gets the scene report, what products make it to the product section and so forth. What they came up with for issue eighty-four is the following:
After doing a BMX 'zine for ten years (1987 - 1996) FATBMX made it on the internet. The year was 1998. Here to stay.
