Monster Energy’s Vince Byron has taken the silver medal in a closely fought final in BMX Big Air at X Games Barcelona 2013. It’s the second medal of the weekend for the Australian, who earned the bronze on Friday night in BMX Vert. BMX Big Air, the last event of X Games Barcelona 2013, sees the top eight riders hitting the big air ramp’s massive gap and 27-foot quarter pipe. Each rider gets four runs with the top single runs determining the podium finishers.

After slamming on his first run, success came for Byron on his second run. After a crazy 360 double downside tailwhip over the gap, Byron pulled a no handed 540 on the quarter pipe—he was the only rider to pull a big 540 this evening. His score, a 90.00, proved enough for the silver.
"Two medals in one weekend—I’m stoked,” said Byron immediately
