It's tough to do these FAT FAVs from the road but we gave it a try and came up with the following BMX news. It's only a section of what happened in BMX land but it's been tough staying on top of things with the Asian X Games going on at the same time. On top of that there is no access to Facebook, Youtube, Blogger, Vimeo, Twitter or any of those communication sites over here in China. Add to that that I hear the beats pumping from the hotel bar and you know how hard it is to get this one out. But here's the attempt. Back next week.

The second day of KIA X Games Asia 2010 was disrupted by a consistent rain, causing Friday’s competitions to be postponed until Saturday. The BMX Street discipline is to round out Saturday’s schedule of competitions. American Garrett Reynolds will try for a record three-peat gold medal win in the BMX Street final. The BMX action will kick off at 3pm with BMX street practice followed by the "straight finals". Check back here on FATBMX for the report after the

The third edition of this landmark event at European level will be held on July 3rd and 4th at the Parc del Forum with many surprises and 15,000 square feet of sports facilities.

Barcelona will become the world capital of extreme sports with the presence of 200 professionals and 400 amateur’s riders in skateboarding, BMX, FMX, Inline, wakeboard, longboard and BTT in the modality of Dirt Jump, which is new this year 

Despite windy conditions throughout the competition, X Games gold regular Jamie Bestwick and fellow British rider Simon Tabron put on a dazzling display in front of 4,700 fans in the BMX Vert final in day one at KIA X Games Asia 2010.

Though Tabron quickly set the bar in the final by solidly landing a 900 in the new jam format, Bestwick still managed to surpass his fellow countryman by a single point with double-downside-whips, downside-whips-to-x-ups and superman-seat-grab-Indian airs as only Jamie can. The United States’ Austin Coleman rode a solid competition and rounded out the podium taking home the bronze.

“When Simon dropped in for his last run, I was a bit worried,” said Bestwick. “I knew that if he pulled off the 900, it would be tight and he did a beautiful 900. But you know, in competitions, there are days when you win by 10 points and some days where it’s just one and that’s the way it goes.” 

It's Thursday and today the complete vert contest was held at the Asian X-Games. The wind had picked up a little but the 10 riders had to deal with it in front of a rather small crowd. Vert finals on a Thursday is kinda weird in itself but the camera's were rolling so you'll get to see it on TV at some point. After the qualifying runs were over the following riders made it to the finals. Qualifying in first was Simon "007" Tabron, followed by Jamie Bestwick, Coco, Austin Coleman and Vince Byron. But for the finals things switched up a little.
