Monster Energy congratulates Monster Army riders Colton Walker and Brian Fox on their first and third-place wins in BMX Triple Hit at the second Nitro World Games at the Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. With live coverage on NBC during a single three-hour broadcast, Monster Energy’s world-class athletes took a total of four trophies across tonight’s FMX and BMX events.
A progression-focused trick fest, the Triple Hit is three jumps where the only option is doing the three hardest tricks in succession. With the best riders in the world next to him, Walker stepped up to the challenge to take the win with his very last run in this insane event and his second consecutive win.
With the return of the Nitro World Games to Salt Lake City on Saturday, the revolutionary competition took action sports to never seen before levels of excitement and achievement. 12 invited riders made it to Munich, Germany for the annual Munich Mash event. Instead of a street comp, this year's edition hosts a Spine Miniramp contest and with riders like Kostya Andreev (RUS), Kevin Peraza (USA), Alex Hiam (AUS), Jack Clark (GBR), Pat Casey (USA), Daniel Wedemeijer (NED), Tom Justice (GBR), Timo Schulze (GER), Gilles Torres (ARG), Tobias Freigang (GER), Daniel Dhers (VEN), and Paul Thoelen (GER) you can understand the level was off the hook. Friday was used to do a Best Trick contest and the bangers came out on day one already. It was a rough decision to make the call who would go home with the €1000,= check and 1 year Gravity membership but in the end it went to Pat Casey. Alex Hiam was in the lead for a while with a whip to footjam whip to fakie over the double coping spine. Kevin Peraza's 540 bluetooth g-turn nosepick was off the hook as was Daniel Wedemeijer's icepick on the wall and Tom Justice's 270 over ice to toothpick on the spine to 270 back over. Michael Beran was on fire pulling the handplant backflip over the spine to one-handed lander to one handed barspin on the next wall. His big trick was the bikeflip tailwhip which he perfectly executed. Pat Casey's fakie skills got him the win. The 180 barspin to no-hander over the spine to fakie 360 tailwhip did it. The check and the 1-year Gravity membership went to Riverside.
Contest will happen on Saturday afternoon. Stay tuned for that. Possible live feed too.

It was around 1999, we were diggin’ hard at our trails in Capelle aan den IJssel (RIP) and I was having another knee operation. Thinking a lot about my comeback and the winter that was coming I was searching, within the Rotterdam area, for a new location for trials that would be dry and rideable all winter. We did build some jumps under the “Brienenoord”bridge, but this place was terrible for side wind blowing under the bridge. The big pro was that it was dry all the time. Looking around on crutches I stumbled into the bushes under the flyover for the tram near the Sint Franciscus hospital. There was a perfect place hidden between bushes, covered by a flyover but…. There were bums living there, hence the name, JunkTrails.
Gerrit Koornwinder, Rene Hofman, Jeroen Hoogaerts (RIP) and more people started building. The dirt was actually so dry the water would just run off and would not penetrate the dirt. We got pumps in and at the end and made a starting hill, three doubles and a bank to wallride. All dirt. Fast-forward to December 2014, by now the reader understands that this is an oldschool rider talking, so old that I rode bmx before “bmx freestyle” was invented.
Our old crew with new additions, Paul Lemson and Sven den Toom, likes jumping but we are very
