Antwerp City Drops took place in the weekend of 23/24 September and once again the weather cooperated to make the Urban sports festival a success in the middle of the city centre of Antwerp. This year, next to dirt, a flatland contest was added to the program. While kids rode the dirt pump track all weekend long, the Dirt jumps were used for an Open Qualification contest, a Primus High Air comp, Best trick contest and the BMX Dirt Invitational. The Flatland contest was held on a 144 square meter podium which attracted a huge crowd.
The 8 meter high roll-in got the riders up to speed in no-time for the two big jumps. The first dirt jump was angled in a hip with the second one sending you to the moon if you wanted to. On Saturday Tom van den Bogaard (NED) cleared 7,80 meters in the Primus Haacht Beer high air contest winning a keg of beer and €500 for his efforts. Qualification on Saturday sent the best riders to Sunday's finals where Konrad Szabo (HUN) delivered his triple whips and front flips to please not only the crowd but the judges as well for first place. Tom van den Bogaard styled to second place with height while German Simon Moratz grobbed third with barspins to tailwhips and flip variations. Joe Baddeley (GBR) double flipped to 4th while home favourite Kenneth Tancré claimed 5th place.
Best Trick on Dirt went to Joe Baddeley with a bad-ass double flip on the first hipped double jump. He's got that trick on lock. Antwerp got to see plenty of them over the weekend and Joe liked throwing them to please the Belgians.

Last day for the only North American stop of the 2017 FISE World Series, but not the least! After a morning filled with enthusiasm and impressive riding from the amateurs, things started to get serious once the pros stepped in: BMX Flat Pro - Final. The pro finals kicked off with BMX Flat, in a filled-up amphitheater that brought up a notch the riders' energy on stage.
We knew the battle for the two first places would be a hard one, with names like Jean-William Prévost and Matthias Dandois as contenders. Prévost, happy to ride in home turf, once again blew our minds with technical, original tricks that are his signature, but very slight mistakes made him unable to beat his rival, Matthias Dandois. Nevertheless, the second place that Prévost reached today gave him
UCI BMX Freestyle Park Finals. One of the most awaited event of the weekend was, of course, the UCI BMX Freestyle Park finals. The windy conditions yesterday played a big part in building a feeling of anticipation, and both crowd and riders were ready for a big day of finals. Mother Nature was trying to shake things off again, bringing winds averaging 23 km/h but the determination of the riders to complete their competition was stronger than the possible doubts in their minds.
Expectations were high for Brandon Loupos, after his win in FISE Budapest. Digging deep for stamina and big tricks, he was certainly putting a lot of pressure on his competitors. Not phased at all by the wind, he gave a great performance for the crowd and judges, lacing together tricks of high amplitude,
UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup Women Final. Another day of pure sunshine and adrenaline in Edmonton, Alberta for the second day of the FISE World Series Edmonton stop. Even though Mother Nature was a bit on the difficult side today, we did manage to crown our first winner, as the women opened the pro competitions with the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup finals. It’s American Hannah Roberts took the win in today’s event, with her sheer determination to get back on the highest step of the podium after finishing third in the last FISE stop in Budapest. Her solid first run and enormous second run combined really truly in her favor in the eyes of the judges. Her versatility and ability to throw tricks on every feature say a lot about her talent and mostly, her bike control. The

UCI BMX FREESTYLE PARK WORLD CUP - MEN. After a windy stop in Budapest, it's time for Logan Martin to recover his place on the podium! Kicked out of the competitions during the semi-final due to a massive crash, the winner of the FISE World Series 2016 is not going to wait quietly at the 6th place in the general ranking. But he is facing the Daniel Dhers' solid and regular runs, as well as a Brandon Loupos highly confident thanks to his first place in Budapest. Moreover, the Russian Irek Rizaev is counting as a challenger and he is firmly hooked to his third place. Let's see if the thousand of barspins added in each trick by Logan can make a difference!
