This past weekend, the Ride The Dragon event took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, bringing together a strong mix of local talent and international riders for a high-level C1 BMX Park contest. Hosted at the Banga Ramp Park, the event delivered exactly what you’d expect from a serious BMX gathering: progression, good vibes, and a facility that raises the bar for indoor riding. For me personally, it was my first time visiting Lithuania, and it turned out to be a memorable one. I was invited over as an event partner to help wherever during the contest and cover the event for FATBMX. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the Lithuanian BMX scene is thriving, supported by passionate riders, dedicated organizers, and a venue that truly caters to progression.
Let’s talk about the park first. Banga Ramp Park is seriously impressive. The building itself is brand new and designed with riders in mind. Not the typical old dirty desolated former factory in the shady part of town. It’s spacious, clean, and fully equipped with air conditioning and heating, making it a year-round destination regardless of the weather outside. The layout is well thought-out, offering a great flow for BMX Park riding, with a variety of transitions and lines that allow riders to push their limits.
The addition of resi ramps is a huge plus, especially for those working on new tricks. It gives riders the confidence to step things up safely before taking moves to the main course. But the mats were removed for the C1 comp. The facility includes everything you need: a small shop, chill area, showers, and proper amenities.

In 2026 the X Games is entering a completely new chapter with the launch of the MoonPay X Games League (XGL). Instead of riders competing only for individual medals at standalone events, athletes will now compete as part of teams across a season. The new format includes city-based teams, a draft system, and multiple stops around the world. For BMX fans this means something different than what we’re used to: riders will represent clubs, earn points for their team, and battle it out across several events before a champion is crowned.
Below is a simple breakdown of how the new league works.
What Is the MoonPay X Games League?
Street Fest 2026 went down in Aotea Square, Auckland, New Zealand on the 20th of February, and it didn’t disappoint! Predominantly a skate event, BMX was definitely a crowd favourite, with riders going off on the ramshackle street course in the middle of the Auckland CBD which consisted of a flat bar mounted on a mini-truck wedge to wedge, 5 foot/ 7 foot quarter set up, and a car jump with a 3 foot kicker and wedge landing!
The Jam format really allowed the riders to push themselves, and each other, with cold hard cash for tricks, and prizes and trophies for ‘Best Trick’ - ‘Best Grom’ - ‘Best Line’ and the ultimate title of best rider of the day - ‘Don Of The Streets’
Auckland native and Vic Park skate park local Ben Hart swooped a first full of cash and the title of best trick with a giant 180 over the car jump, which he laced first attempt, much to the amusement of the crowd.
Back flip master Hasin Alu took home TWO trophies - Best Trick with a flip transfer off the 7 foot quarter, over a guard rail and out of the park, and he received best grom, as he was the youngest rider entered at just 17 years old.
2026 hasn’t gone our way multiple times already but hey, that bad luck can’t go on forever. The FAT Power Hour BMX session at the Brookly Banks in NYC had to be cancelled. Little could we expect the coldest winter in New York since I don’t know how many years and February 7th being the coldest day of the year being -16 Celsius with a “feels like” temperature of -27 degrees. On top of that, the banks still had snow, so that riding session wasn’t happening. It was good to meet up with Matthias Bernges from Cologne who has been living in NYC for 30 years now and is one of the early BMX riders from Germany, still owning two SE Quadangles and following the sport via social media. Social media is great for that. Staying in touch with people even though you live thousands of miles apart. Reaching out to people that you’re coming to town and promoting your little event. Had the weather been different, that FAT Power Hour could have been a good thing. We’ll just save it for another time.
We spend a couple of days in New York checking the sights, eating the good food, exploring, discovering and basically made it a city trip with less BMX than we’d hoped for. The NYC metro system is great and took us around in a warmer circumstances than above the ground. Shops, coffee places and restaurants gave us warmth when it was time to go inside. We checked L.E.S. skatepark for the first time, discovered that Tompkins Park looked more like a snowpark, met up with Brendan Vail who runs New York’s
