The KNWU today announced its new technical staff for the national BMX team. As of 1 January 2026, former French BMX professional and coach Thomas Allier will take on the role of National Coach BMX Racing. He will be supported by Joris Harmsen, who will serve as Assistant National Coach. Allier and Harmsen are no strangers to the BMX world. Thomas Allier built an impressive international career as a professional BMX rider and gained extensive experience as a coach after retiring from competition, both nationally and internationally. With his knowledge of elite-level racing and his sharp analytical eye, he brings valuable expertise to the Dutch team. Joris Harmsen also competed internationally as a BMX rider and brings a wealth of experience. He will focus primarily on talent development and the daily guidance of riders.
Together, Allier and Harmsen will be responsible for the sporting direction of the national BMX team, preparing athletes for World Cups, European Championships, World Championships, and the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
