This past weekend, the Ride The Dragon event took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, bringing together a strong mix of local talent and international riders for a high-level C1 BMX Park contest. Hosted at the Banga Ramp Park, the event delivered exactly what you’d expect from a serious BMX gathering: progression, good vibes, and a facility that raises the bar for indoor riding. For me personally, it was my first time visiting Lithuania, and it turned out to be a memorable one. I was invited over as an event partner to help wherever during the contest and cover the event for FATBMX. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the Lithuanian BMX scene is thriving, supported by passionate riders, dedicated organizers, and a venue that truly caters to progression.
Let’s talk about the park first. Banga Ramp Park is seriously impressive. The building itself is brand new and designed with riders in mind. Not the typical old dirty desolated former factory in the shady part of town. It’s spacious, clean, and fully equipped with air conditioning and heating, making it a year-round destination regardless of the weather outside. The layout is well thought-out, offering a great flow for BMX Park riding, with a variety of transitions and lines that allow riders to push their limits.
The addition of resi ramps is a huge plus, especially for those working on new tricks. It gives riders the confidence to step things up safely before taking moves to the main course. But the mats were removed for the C1 comp. The facility includes everything you need: a small shop, chill area, showers, and proper amenities.
