The atmosphere was electric; as 15,000 enthused fans flocked to Old Market Square throughout the day, for the very first Red Bull Vertical Battle on Saturday, to witness ten of the best skateboarders and BMX’ers compete on Europe’s largest vert ramp to the backdrop of live music from Kerrang!
However, the night belonged to legendary BMX’er Jay ‘The Beast’ Miron, who not only took first place, but also scooped the ‘best trick’ award for pulling a ‘540 whip’, commenting he said: “I always like to ‘give-er’ at the Red Bull contestsâ€? and the judges couldn’t agree more, BMX judge Will Smyth added: 
The Pro Flatland final proved as exciting, with Justin Miller (USA) taking a second straight tour victory, producing a combination of characteristically difficult front wheel moves.
The British boys pulled together some technical combo’s to take the final podium spots, with Sam Foakes (UK) in second and Effraim Catlow (UK) placing third. Effraim will be looking to take those vital tour points to the next stop of the Tour as it heads to 
Finals day at NASS, with over 40,000 spectators descending on the fields of the Bath & West Showground over the weekend, the riders knew they had a crowd to impress and impress they did!
Braun cruZer Tour Spine Contest:
One of the clear event highlights drawing in the crowds, was the Braun cruZer Tour Spine contest, with the riders knowing they had everything to play for as they went into the 5th leg of the tour. The ever, impressive Mark Webb (UK) went all out for victory with multiple runs of technical and flare tricks.
The battle for second place and 
The flyer of the jam made us curious. Concrete parks are popping up let and right and the Hypnoz park had at least a couple of good hips telling from the contest flyer. The video on the Twenty side revealed the complete park and we couldn't wait to get there. Alex Baret booked us a room next to the bowl so all sounded good.
On arrival we were stunned. After driving through the countryside for an hour we arrived at Cap Decouverte. It's a multi sports complex built at an old charbon mine. The park has more than you can think of. The "Auberge" hosts the guests where the skatepark is only 30 meters away. I shot some pics of the park from the bedroom window and with the PA being loud enough I could have chilled at the room the entire time and didn't miss a trick. The skatepark is amazing. The painted 
Psykopath Industries, a new rider-owned bike company held its First Annual Sprint Race/Best Jump Contest on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Psykopath Industries own track which has been redesigned by Psykopath team rider Zack Held.
The Best Trick Contest went to Josh (Squeeks) Boothby. The contest ran Jam Format for 20 minutes. Before the trick contest could come to an end there were a few scary incidents that have proved to make this sport as rugged as it is entertaining.

Day 1
It's 11 AM on Monday and we (Me and Talem) have just parked under the bridge that runs Interstate 95 over Franklin Delano Roosevelt park in Philadelphia, PA. Standing next to the cement blob that supports one of the more unusual places to ride a bike or skateboard you'll ever see, we observe kids on junk department store bikes casually cruising around as television crews set up their lights and camera cranes. In fact there's every kind of biker or skater you could imagine rolling around. I've never been to the Gravity Games before, but 
AUSSIE RYAN GUETTLER HIGHLIGHTS DEW ACTION SPORTS TOUR'S RIGHT GUARD OPEN WITH BMX DIRT AND BMX PARK VICTORIES
DENVER, CO, JULY 10, -Australia's Ryan Guettler became the first two-discipline winner and Great Britain's Jamie Bestwick recorded one of the highest scores in BMX Vert history to cap off four days of competition at the Dew Action Sports Tour's Right Guard Open.
Guettler's remarkable weekend run began with a Friday night victory in the BMX Park competition with a winning score of 93.75. He bested Allan Cooke of Greenville, NC, who stood at 89.75 and Rob Darden [b/]of Greenville, NC, who earned a score of 88.75.
Guettler came back in the BMX Dirt competition, the final event of the four-day professional tour stop to score 94.88 points for the double victory. Fellow Aussie Cameron White was second at 90.50 and Chris Doyle of Pittsburgh, PA was third at 89.25.
Bestwick and another Greenville, NC star, Dave Mirra, knocked heads in BMX Vert. Mirra scored a 94.25 in his first run and Bestwick responded with a winning score of 96.00. Mirra experienced trouble with his handlebars in his second run and was unable to top Bestwick's winning score. Chad Kagy of Gilroy, CA was third at 92.75.
The Dew Action Sports Tour, featuring the biggest competitive purse in actions sports at $2.5 million plus a $1 million bonus pool, will head to Portland, Oregon, Aug. 18-21 for the Vans Invitational. The five-event season will conclude with stops in San Jose, CA (Sept. 8-11) and Orlando, FL (Oct. 13-16).
Flatland at the Oakley/Twenty jam, Cap Decouverte, France.
Probably not too many flatland riders had heard that there was a flatland contest at the Oakley/Twenty jam. This made for a low turn out but a cool session was had regardless with all riders present. The 30 minute session saw some good riding from team rider Alexis Desolneux as well as Twenty-Celeste rider Max. The location was actually quite nice with a huge roof hanging over a spacious asphalt field that can be used to play handball and basketball among other sports. The DJ and MC hyped up the crowd of 15 people. Alexis and Max tied for the win with Joakim in third and a girl in 4th but noone seemed to worry about the results. The session was fun, that's all that mattered.

Oakley/Twenty jam Cap Decouverte, France.
It rained quite a bit on Saturday, the first day of the Oakley/Twenty jam near Carmaux, France. In the evening it dried up so the Oakley Best Trick contest could take place. With one award on the line the riders took to the concrete park and used some of the surrounding street ramps that were set up for the occasion. The complete Twenty team was on hand and Oakley flew in Sergio Layos. The session was mellow and the riding was great. The lights lit up the park very well and in the end it was Dimitri Ivanov who won with a no-hander to barspin in the deep end of the park. 
RYAN GUETTLER WINS BMX PARK COMPETITION AT THE DEW ACTION SPORTS TOUR'S RIGHT GUARD OPEN; SOLIDIFIES HIS NUMBER ONE SPOT IN THE DEW CUP POINTS STANDINGS
July 8, 2005 - Denver, CO - Ryan Guettler, 21, from Brisbane, AUS, wowed the crowd at the Pepsi Center Friday evening with a flawless run during BMX park finals. Guettler executed some of the most technical tricks BMX has ever seen and nailed them to perfection.
Guettler completed two astounding runs and was in first place after his first run. He sealed his lead as he improved upon his own leading score. The trick that cemented his win was a perfect front flip 720 across the box jump backwards.
"This (victory) proves to everyone who thought my win in Louisville was a fluke," said Guettler. "Everyone's been much more hungry for this Tour than other events. Since I was hurt just last week, I came into this contest just wanting to chill out, but I was so motivated to continue what I had achieved at the first event."
