The 2013 USA BMX National Pro Series kicked off in Phoenix Arizona this past weekend. Straight off the back of the Mountain Bike National Championships in Australia I jetted off to America to back up with two massive weekends of racing. 45 pro men and 21 pro women from across the world competed in the first major BMX race of 2013. The level of competition was World Cup standard including the Olympic gold medalist from Columbia Mariana Pajon. Olympic bronze medalist Laura Smulders from the Netherlands, the Australian Olympic team, Teagan O'keeffee from South Africa, 3 time USA #1 girl 
2013 is now well in motion. This past week I have been In Canberra, Australia for round 5 and 6 of the Australian national Series. We flew on tuesday and got nothing but rain all week. Friday morning the rain had stopped and they worked hard on the super soft, 6 corner, 400m + track. racing was delayed a few hours but we managed to get going. I won all my mottos, semi final and took a big holeshot in the final. I eventually got passed half way around the track as my fitness is not right up yep and I finished 2nd. Day 2 was much the same. still hurting from day 1 it gave a great mental challenge to stay positive and keep attacking the racing. I again won all my mottos and semi final. In the final I got a little sideways on the first jump and lost that slight lead going into the first corner, made a few more little mistakes and finished 2nd.
This came as a bit of a surprise but you can only put so much water with the wine. Compromises have to end somewhere and with the sake of BMX in mind, team McCoy pulled out of the Dew Tour.
