Rounds 5 and 6 of the UEC European League series were held in Grandson (Switserland). Our European Factory Team was almost complete, only Marie Hossay was absent due to an injury. The Team had some good results with most riders making it to the mains on both days. Rune Deburchgraeve has been consistent making every main in this year’s series. He took 4th place on Saturday and on Sunday he won the Main event. His first international victory puts him in 3rd place of the Boys 13/14 ranking. Congrats Rune!Another rider that was longing for his first big international win this year was Kristens Krigers. The Latvian Junior was the man to beat this weekend with some serious pull on the first straight.
We've had a number of successful Ride to End Obesity school visits in the past month. In fact, with your support, we have been able to reach more than 200 kids with a positive message of making healthful life choices while introducing them to the sport of BMX in this past semester. The team was excited to have the participation of Stephen Murray at a couple of visits, as his motivational message to the kids was widely received. We are hopeful he will be able to join us for many more visits in the future.
When Red Bull thinks of a new event it usually involves something big. The Red Bull Berm Burners in Richmond, Virginia was more of a pump track event with of course a couple of berms and a starting gate that shot the riders to the course. Dave King of Dirtsculpt took care of the track design and build so you know it worked the best way possible. Laps were timed and riders raced through the track in front of the Richmond crowd. Red Bull brought the tunes and the drinks and awarded the number one rider in the end. And the winner was...
