Despite intense discussions concerning the realization of the Vert-Competition at major contests, like the Summer X-Games 2008, the halfpipe challenge is going to happen at Suzuki BMXMasters 2008 from 4th- 6th July in Cologne as usual. After talking to the riders, we have been encouraged to hold on to this unique contest model and continue to offer all five BMX-Freestyle disciplines. Vert is not only an inherent part of the contest philosophy of the Suzuki BMXMasters, but also a guaranty for spectacular BMX action at the Jugendpark with top-class participants every year.
This year again many international pros, which arrive from all over the world, have signed up in order to match with the european elite. We are particularly happy to welcome riders like Evandro da Silva from Sao Bernardo do Compo (Brasil) and Oliver Cantillo from Caracas (Venezuela).
In these temperatures the best thing to do is drink a Bavaria or two. But when the occasion arises that you can ride a Grand Prix track that is normally closed for goons like me, you take the opportunity. TMV distribution organised a dealer appreciation day at the GP track of Valkenswaard and Paul and I were on the list. The track was great to ride and open all day long for free sessions. The only bummer was the dust but we're not complaining here. Enjoy the photos of the day if you're into the MX thing. If not, carry on. 
After almost 15 years of awesome sessions with people from all over, our trails are likely to be torn down. Apparently people digged too deep on 1 line (the one Sergio Layos did in a recent movie posted somewhere on FATBMX) revealing some of the contaminated soil (the entire park is built on top of a former garbage dump). Some of the locals are now discussing alternative solutions with the government, hopefully they will be around for another 15 years. If you are worried, the weather is good right now and the trails are better than ever! So go ride em before they are gone!

The third leg of the 2008 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup presented by Swatch took place on Friday and Saturday, 9th and 10th of May. For the first time ever the event was held in Denmark. The capital Copenhagen hosted the final World Cup event before the Olympics in Beijing. More than 120 professional riders from all over the world came to compete for medals and Olympic participation.
