Tom Öhler created a sensation at the Gugl Games in Linz, Austria. The Austrian set a trialbiking world record in the 400 metre hurdles with a time of 44.62 seconds. He raced on two wheels against the two legs of Felix Sanchez (DOM), the reigning Olympic champion at the distance. In the end Öhler did not just leave the Olympic winner trailing, smashing the world record at 400 metre hurdles (46.78 seconds).
