The LG Action Sports World Tour came to a dramatic climax in Dallas at the World Tour Championships October 27-29. Chris Mitchell shares a couple of photos and words with FATBMX: "For those of you who were there, I hope you managed to get some rest after the insane weekend. For those of you who weren't, you missed an unbelievable display of riding across the board, and hopefully, you will be able to make it next year. " - Chris.
Why does it have to be Friday before we post Pin-Up shots? We've been receiving loads of pics lately and these arrived from the Baco jam. Shot by Catfish. I believe it's the Albe's promotion team or something.....
UCI BMX RANKING The 2005/2006 UCI BMX Ranking came to an end with the 2006 UCI BMX World Championships in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Once again Robert De Wilde (NED) showed great consistency throughout the season snatching the top spot in Elite Men, followed by always present Randy Stumpfhauser (USA). In Elite Women, Gabriella Diaz (ARG) won the overall ranking with great results on the Latin American Continent and at the World Championships. 30 October 2006 – Well, what can we say, other than what another storming Backyard Jam! A big congratulations go out to all the riders that participated in this year’s event and to Nate Wessel for his champion course. It provided a top grade arena in which the world’s best BMXers threw themselves at vert walls, rails, ramps and a corner construction consisting of a shed roof-come-curved-wallride with rails, a flat bank, step up and a bowled section, much to the excitement of the passionate and supportive crowd.
The Etnies Backyard Jam 2006 began for most involved on Thursday 26th, with the course builders working through the night and the riders arriving into Sheffield from all over the World. Having finished the floor of the course on the Friday morning, ICE Sheffield’s doors opened to an excited crowd of spectators and riders, with the first day’s event kicking off with the Amateur qualifiers.
Last weekend local San Franciscan rider's Qualey and Koit put together another Hell on Wheels jam in the city. The lack of the usual 2-Hip Meet the Street comps have left the street dawgs fiending for more. All the riders met in a park downtown and we were all given maps marking out the spots to hit. Judges would be present at each spot and competitors wore paper dinner plates with numbers on them.
Top trade show EUROBIKE gets U.S. cousin Friedrichshafen, Germany. This coming September, Messe Friedrichshafen – organizer of EUROBIKE, the world's leading bicycle trade exhibition – will stage its first independent trade show in the United States. The aim is to strengthen EUROBIKE's presence in North America and optimally service the biking market there. The decision by trade show specialist Messe Friedrichshafen is in response to indications that current U.S. bicycle trade shows will no longer be able to fulfil domestic industry demands.
Hannu Cools never gets enough of traveling. Right after the trip to Greece he jumped in his van to join his brother Sig and two others for a trip thru Europe. Expect Tarzan to show up...

Whether it's Gertie's B-day, Sinterklaas or a 5 year celebration of whatever, the people at the Impact skatepark in Sint Niklaas, Belgium always find a reason to have a jam. It almost feels like the local appliance store that has different specials every week. The "Go Home Again" BMX Contest is planned for 18 November 2006. It's got Am and Pro classes and the park is open at noon. Visitors have free admission and if you want to ride/compete, it's 10 Euros.
If you've got one of those fancy TomTom navigators, punch in the following address: Lindestraat 46b, 9100 Sint-Niklaas and you will be dropped off at the doorstep. Others just find your way to St. Niklaas and ask around.
Albequerque, NM:The USA has a HUGE, brand new indoor BMX facility in Albequerque, and the American Bicycle Association christened it by holding the Fall Nationals under its roof. When finished, this City-funded facility will supposedly be sweeter than the DeSoto, Texas track, and will host a Olympic-style BMX training facility. Although not yet complete, it was a great site for the final regular-season National of 2006. Of course, Team Redline and the rest of the BMX world wasn’t about to miss out on the chance to break-in the new building.
