FISE MONTPELLIER 2023, THE ACTION SPORTS EVENT IS BACK FROM MAY 17 TO 21, 2023
As is tradition during the week of Ascension, the city of Montpellier will vibrate to the rhythm of the world’s largest urban sports festival. From May 17 to 21, 2023, nearly 600,000 passionate spectators will converge on the banks of the River Lez in the Occitan city for the FISE, the 3rd largest free sports event in France.
Some 2000 professional and amateur athletes, 7 sports, 14 disciplines, 6 World Cup contests and high ranking competitions... The numbers are quite impressive and position the festival as a major event in the international sports calendar.

In 1996, I stumbled upon an ad for Clint Millar's video, Prody 4 - Remember, in BMX Plus or Ride BMX. Intrigued, I purchased a copy and was blown away by the incredible riding. Little did I know that this encounter would lead to an incredible journey and friendship.

Mike Canning was one of the guys who caught the media spot light as BMX was well and truly going down the pan popularity wise. A start in racing, he quickly moved into Freestyle with a bunch of like minded friends around his home and they gained a reputation as a scene to watch, starting out on backyard quarters and jumping at the local tracks Mike appeared in an issue of BMX Action bike in 86 in the 'Zoid' feature, along side Nick Phillips.
The BMX gods allowed Jon Mackellar and friends some time to build some epic DIY ramps in an abandoned warehouse in the western Suburbs of Brisbane.
