It's time to play indoors. Hope you have a local park that you can go to. It's hard to get sessions in outside but there are moments you still can and then those sessions are great. Riding with the die-hards, who don't complain about the cold, but talk positive about the session they're having. And before we know it, the new year is here and the sun starts coming out again. Seriously, time flies. New dates are being picked for the 2011 events already so keep an eye out for that FATBMX event calendar for all the info. Riders are changing sponsors, and getting ready for 2011. BMX is always moving, there are no slow times, and that's why we like it. Most likely you didn't have to complain about the lack of updates this week. Riders are dropping edits every single day. New products make it on the market. New BMX tracks are being built. Jams are happening, even in the wintertime, but maybe indoors. Keep up, go ride. Here's the news of the last week.
The Las Vegas and action sports communities come together to support their own. Join us for a fundraising benefit hosted by Dana White, UFC President, on December 3rd at Vanity Nightclub, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, in Las Vegas. 100 percent of the money raised will go to the TJ and Ty recovery fund. TJ Lavin and Ty Pinney – BMX Bike Riders, Las Vegans and friends – were seriously injured in separate bike accidents, leaving both in comas just a few rooms apart at University Medical Center in Las Vegas. TJ and Ty continue to make progress, but still face a long, difficult road to recovery with mounting medical bills.

To get a better idea of what type of stuff the FATBMX reader rides, we've posted up a Poll in the right column. We're at 800 voters at the moment and we'll let the poll up until a total of 1000 people have indicated what they're riding. Leading at the moment is Street, followed by Park and Dirt. We've been working on it for a while already and it's time to inform you about it. The first week of December, FATBMX is turning into "Girls Week". You will not find the regular news updates if it involves male riders, this week will be reserved for girls only. Okay, the Pin-Up of the week photo will be a guy (any takes?). We're going to dedicate a week to the girls who ride BMX. Just after the Dew Tour wrapped up in Las Vegas Pro BMX Rider, Rob Darden, took advantage of the off season to get bi lateral knee surgery (both knees at once). Just last week he noticed that his calf muscle soreness wouldn’t go away no matter how much he stretched it out. While at his physical therapy appointment they suggested Rob head to a radiologist to have it looked at closer. An ultrasound confirmed that Rob had developed blood clots which can commonly occur after surgery and are the result of lack of movement. Having both knees fresh out of surgery made it difficult for Rob to get around.

You either get this, or you don't. There's no middle way. If you get this, you're at least 30 years old. BMX has gone through some crazy times and the Hoffman crew carried it around for a while putting it on the right track. Thanks them for that. Maybe you should get one of their "new" Aggroman shirts: Aggroman is a BMX superhero and a BMX Classic. A must have shirt to celebrate history. 
This year Mike has made big steps in his professional career from winning the Gatorade Freeflow tour to riding with the big dogs at the Dew Tour Finals in Las Vegas, Nv. Mike is on his way to doing some big things in our sport and is no stranger to going high and fast and with that comes some major risks. Payne took a hard fall in Phoenix, Az which put him in three different hospitals for days/nights with multiple broken ribs severe bruising and a lacerated kidney. Mike had medical insurance for the Gatorade Freeflow and Dew Tour, but upon arrival at the hospital he was notified of his policy cancelation which in turn leaves him hung high and dry with a hefty medical bill or should I say medical bills.
