2008 Nyquist prototype signature frame

May 13, 2007
It  wasn't hard to spot Ryan Nyquist at the dirt session in Grevenbroich. His 2008 prototype signature frame received an interesting colour after the powder coater got the opportunity to give it whatever colour he wanted, including pink.  And pink it was. The frame comes with an integrated seatpost clamp, small

Tobias Wicke's signature Elektro frame from wethepeople. First photos!

May 13, 2007
Tobias Wicke got presented his wethepeople signature Frame last Friday. It's called the Elektro like his signature bars and features the latest tricks in saving weight. Tobi explained that he wanted to have the double - triple cable guides underneath the top tube and was stoked on the way it came out. For other details of the frame he directed us to Harry Schmid at wethepeople. Wicke had no clue how long the top tube is but  the product development part of wethepeople knows, and he fully trusts them.

Dirt session Grevenbroich

May 12, 2007
With killer dirt riders in town for the Extreme Playground contest a sweet dirt session took place at the Abflughalle in Grevenbroich, Germany. It was the solution to get some riding done on a rainy and windy weekend. The indoor dirt place got shredded by everyone who found a ride there and that included Hennon, Nyquist, Wicke, Juergens, Heyer, Forte, Caro and more. With no pressure on anyone the riding took off quickly. The jumps were in perfect condition and the presence of a resi section and foampit brought out the tricks that the riders had in mind but had not completed yet. Wicke pulled no-handed fronties on the resi and triple whips and whip to pedal to whip to pedal in the foampit. The invert award of the day went to Bjorn Heyer. Check his feet on the photo on your right. Dope. Ben Hennon had his throttle stuck on fullgas again with double whips over the big first set and crazy superman looking jumps. Stylish 360-s came from Forte, Caro was pulling his 720-s and Nyquist was riding off his jetleg with all his classic jumps.

NBL racing standings

May 12, 2007
With only two weekends left in the 2007 NBL Elite Series (Prunedale & South Park), the hunt for the coveted NBL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Title is getting very interesting. Donny Robinson, the reigning Elite Men's champ, has shaken off a slow start and now sits only two points behind Cristian Becerine. Don't count out Mike Day and Kyle Bennett yet - they have been gaining ground fast. Sam Cools and Krystal Hime have gained ground on Kim Hayashi and Stephanie Barragan isn't far behind in the Elite Women's chase. The NBL GRAND NATIONAL is once again shaping up to be the most exciting race of the year! Here's a peek at who is still in the race.

Trails in the woods of Bochum, Germany

May 12, 2007
If the local council doesn't cooperate with your request of making a spot available to build dirt jumps, there's always the possibility to do it yourself. You can't have it close to where people live. The more people/kids know about it, the sooner they'll be destroyed. Find a location that you normally would never go to. Check the dirt. If it has a hilly section that's a plus too. The folks in Bochum, Germany have been digging and riding at the same spot for years. It's hidden in the woods and no we're not going to tell you where it is. Dig your own.

Rain and strong wind reason for BMX cancellation in Herten

May 12, 2007
After 5 weeks of perfect weather it started to rain on Monday. The jumps for the BMX session in Herten, Germany had already been built and looked awesome but unfortunately noone was able to ride them because of the heavy wind and too much rain. The organization did everything in their power to make it happen but in a rider meeting that took place minutes ago it was decided that BMX is not happening. The bands are still on the program for today and we're all chilling in a killer rider area but there won't be much riding

RIDE BMX May 2007

May 11, 2007
Man I hate it when they don't listen. I asked for less pages so I can finish reading the mag but RIDE BMX's May 2007 issue is a heavy weight at 188 pages. We've joked around that some BMX magazines can be read in one crap session on the toilet where RIDE (UK) is definitely reading material for the longest plane ride you can imagine. It doesn't really make sense to go through the complete content of issue 103 but here are the features:
-Simpel Session with a mini cooper
-Steven Hamilton interview
-DC USA team tour
-Jason Phelan interview
-Scotty Cranmer interview
-Three Englishmen in France
-Toronto and Agriculture jams
-Bike Checks with Tyrone Williams and Kevin Porter

Tour Dur Laarbeek 2007

May 10, 2007
4 villages turned into  Laarbeek, NL some years ago.  With the villages only being a few miles apart and each one sporting a miniramp, it was time to hit all the ramps at once. The first edition took place in 2005 so this is the third edition of the Tour Dur Laarbeek. The tour kicks off in Mariahout at noon. After the contest there (BMX - Skateboarding - inline) the live band and all riders and staff jump in a few vehicles to go to the next spot (Lieshout). At 2pm the comp starts there on the miniramp with  hip. At 4pm everyone meets at the ramp in Beek en Donk for a spine session and the day ends with a session on the miniramp in Aarle-Rixtel. 4 ramps in one day, it can and will be done.  Everyone is welcome to join the fun. etnies Grounded premiere at OJA after the competition.

NBL launches the Bring-A-Buddy Recruiting Program to help boost the grassroots of BMX

May 10, 2007
Imagine if every NBL member recruited just one new rider this year. Local programs would get a huge boost and thousands of new riders would be hitting the track, raising the level of competition across the nation. The 2007 NBL Bring-A-Buddy Program has been designed to do just that and more than $50,000 in prizing will keep recruiters and NBL tracks working hard to recruit new ‘buddies’ throughout the spring and summer.
