A visit to Pyskopath bikes. By Lloyd Ramsay

Jul 20, 2006
The other day Omar who rides for Pyskopath Industries/Bikes invited me over to their ramps in San Undisclosed , California. Psykopath started out as a rider owned racing team and later added on a freestyle team as well as products. Their "training facility" and office is based out of a house with a large ramp in the backyard. The entrance to the office is the best part since everyone walks up the ramp and climbs through the window. Inside there are bike parts everywhere and if there were any strangled hookers, they hid them well. Zack Held the team manager showed me the prototype of their 5150 frame. It has been revised to include a Spanish BB, internal headset and they shaved a bit of weight off as well.

Rockford 2006. A walk in the past with JT.

Jul 19, 2006
First want to thank Rick and all the VBMX'er staff that made this a great experience!!! This trip almost didn't happen due to a rare tumor I have in my jaw but was able to shuffle some appointments around to get to the Rock this year. Carolyn and I had our hands full at the last minute to get everything packed and I still needed to build the bikes on Thursday! Our 5 1/2 hour trip with a trailer full of bikes was a tad interesting but made it in for the swap meet, which unfortunately there was not a lot of representation? Set up the canopy (MN Faction) and headed over to watch some motos, the racing is so fast at the Rock!

The New GBH Shirebrook Skatepark

Jul 19, 2006
The kids of Shirebrook got to celebrate their independence in style by riding the ramps of their very own new GBH skatepark. The size of this park is deceptive, not unlike stepping through the wardrobe into Narnia…with ramps. It may not be a particularly large area but the design skills of  Russ has made sure that it has a whole lot going on, and his clever use of space ensures that nothing is crammed in so skaters aint gonna come a collision cropper.

Selftitled a BMX bicycle movie presented by Triple 6

Jul 19, 2006
Have you seen Clint's video? is a questions I've been asked a lot lately. The Selftitled video is Clint Millar's first production and it's a damn good one. It features the Australian bad asses on spots we don't get to see too often. If you know Clint, you can understand that it has some strong international content too. The dude travels the world and when back home he works for TripleSix distribution, runs the Colony company, rides his ass off and found time to edit this BMX bicycle movie. Most riders in the video are sponsored by one of the brands that the distribution company carries and includes Ryan Guettler, Clint Millar, Pete Radivo, David Manconi, Kym Grosser, Nick Richardson, Kenny Raggett, Nick Cooper, Mike Lawrence and Zack Musarsa. Funny enough it starts off with a Carhartt clip featuring Belgian Hannu Cools riding on his home turf in Belgium but then quickly moves on to the great riding that Australia has to offer. If you haven't heard of the names mentioned above, you will soon as

The NBL/UCI Elite Series, which ran parallel to the UCI North American Continental Series, came to a close at the NBL Stars N’ Stripes National in South Park and Formula’s Donny Robinson and Fly/Supercross’s Krystal Hime have won their respective Elite Men and Elite Women’s titles. In keeping with the tradition of offering the most lucrative level of Elite racing in the country, the NBL added the program as a ‘series within a series’ to further promote the UCI North American Continental races, paying out more than $13,000 in purses and $10,000 in year-end awards.

Canadian Concrete BMX contest series one. By Blaise Olson.

Jul 19, 2006
The first Canadian Concrete BMX jam went amazing, even in 33 degree+ heat, and no shade to be found! riding was definitely high caliber, with the ams doing flairs and gigantic brakeless transfers and airs (10 feet no brakes! damn!). The Dave Vanderspek "vanderoll" tee was well received, as it was given out to every entrant. Dave started the jam series format in the 80's apparently.

King of the Wall 2006. Switzerland. By Nonda

Jul 19, 2006
Usually people walk the world wearing a blindfold! This is caused through missing knowledge and abilities to use the infrastructure in a creative way. I have unconsciously passed this curved wall for at least six years. Then, BMX opened my eyes! YEAH…. Holy shoot, this wall is one of the greatest things the Almighty has given us! The terrain around this ‘porn roundabout’, the ramps from the Pumpwerk Basel, BMX action, a wrecked car, a beer-bar - yeah you freaking Americans we are allowed to do that - rocking sounds and sweating people turned this event into hell on earth.

Milkshake girls series date/venue announced

Jul 19, 2006
Here's some info regarding the girl event Milkshake Series. As last year, the event will gather girls from everywhere to ride and chill out together in sunny south of France. The dates: 26th-27th of August. This year, the event will take place in Poussan, a friendly little park near Sete. It is supported by TAMTAMshop, etnies, Nikita, Jeevice, trauma and scORP. Also as partners Spade, Sunex, ex-templar (frenchys), twenty, ALK13, bmx up, cream and agoride, and of course Poussan city council and the general council. BMX and skateboard comps are organised as well as some demos of rollerblades, streetboard...

As usual, the comp is merely an excuse to get together and have fun, there is no pressure and no level required, so even if you've just been starting up, you're more than welcome to join the fun. The idea is to support girls in their riding, to keep BMX open to everyone who wants to give it a try. A jam will also be held on Saturday night for both guys and gals, so guys can bring not only their cheerleader pompoms, but also their bike, skateboard...

Worldwide Redline BMX racing news

Jul 18, 2006
RL-FRANCE: The French legion of REDLINE has been rackin’ up some impressive results – starting off with the recent National Championships. ENZO SCHILLING was the first to take the N°1 FRENCH TITLE in his age/class. Enzo’s Championship start wasn’t the greatest, but he pulled off a tremendous move in the first turn to take over the lead and went on to stretch his led by skyin’ the triple jump – the only one in his class to do so. We reckon that when you’ve had a Ferrari named after you, there’s a lot of pressure to go FAST. Then there was more good news for France and Redline from the biggest race in Europe – the Euro Championships. When all was said and done, French REDLINE Elite rider DAMIEN GODET became VICE CHAMPION 2006 In Elite Men Cruiser (2nd in Elite Cruiser).
